It’s definitely a combination of this late (early) hour and your writing that makes me feel as if I’d been dragged up to a precipice, given a shove over the edge and held back by my long hair. I was about to go up in flames when I read what Buffy did to Spike on the dance floor—he was giving her the “I know you’re not ready to tell me I love…just want you to know how I feel speech,” got him all hot-and-bothered and ran away. It’s entirely logical for Spike to walk home, despite the dangerous conditions. The tears were welling during Spike’s “I give up” speech, too. But now I can look forward to the week of “recuperation.” By the way, Owen and Cordy?—truly inspiring. I love how you always find interesting pairings. Have a great day, because you surely made mine (even with just the 4 hours of sleep I’ll have to function on tomorrow/today)!

The heated dance floor make out session was erotic, but you were sending out red flags in Buffy, so I wasn't surprised when she bolted. Spike's confused, enraged reaction was in character and devastating. Thanks goodness Buffy had Cordelia right at her elbow, shoving the truth of how she'd completely blown it.

Spike's mugging on the heels of Buffy's rejection made for a lot of tension between our couple, but that tension just made Buffy finally getting her apology and feelings out that much sweeter. It's too bad that they're finally on the same page, and have a week off to play when Spike is not allowed any strenuous exercise...I can't wait to see how you get around doctor's orders.
