IBE---As IF!!! As IF you could possibly disappoint!!! Never! Never, Ever!!! Hey, your virgin was fine, no probs, and about a trillion of us gals (and some guys) are wishing our first times had been so wondrous and spectacular! This Spike was up there in the ether with the few other guys in the world to treat women preciously for their first time (or any time, actually!).
So... (nudges IBE's muse gently...)
And, oh Sweetie, I feel so much for you, my condolences on your hubby's tranforamation into a Rat Bastard. Take care of yourself and your kiddies. Don't let him, no matter how much you care, or how charming he is...don't let him get away with a thing. And you do know, right, about military spouses being entitled to a share of his retirement (if, I think he retires at or near 20/E6 if I remember right)...don't bargain on that on...don't know how many years he has in, or how close he is to 20 yrs in... always persuade them to stay in---keeps insurance coverage for the kids, PX priviledges, and your share of a little nest egg/or monthly income at that retirement point of 20... and see if YOU might not be entitled to the off base living pay bonus, or if you can't for obvious reasons keep the house, I do believe the kids (and you) are entitled to base/off base housing & allowance. Recently had a good friend go through a military divorce. Though non-military, Mr. Fyreburned's ex-wife made him pay thru the nose, report every other wk to her lawyer/later the office of the court his job searches if his employment dropped below that what she convinced him to work at just before their divorce, AND he had to keep a $250,000 life insurance policy in effect. She also attempted to attach my earnings and properties though we weren't married, which the judge wouldn't hear, attempted to slyly change the name of Ed's son to her new hubby's (who WAS milit./Coast Guard) beginning with legal docs such as his military medical records putting them under the last name of her new hubby...we took this to a judge and got an order against it, as well as her being ordered to keep medical ins. in place as she had it at the time of divorce for the family...and to USE it, not to try to go off plan and stick Ed w/the costs...also she got an order for him to cover things NOT covered by regular medical, such as dental/vision/brand name rx's etc...which we know can be very costly.
So, not trying to depress, just trying to give you a heads up...you might wanna try some of these tactics or just keep a heads up in case HE does...the military legal will not befriend you usually. Sometimes the chaplains office can be petitioned as a go between in hardship cases such as when assholes/I mean divorcing miliatary spouses try to refuse or cheat their ex or soon to be ex wives out of support especially where the kids are involved...and btw, if all else fails, it is my understanding that Louisiana is the only state NOT to subscribe to the Universal Child Custody Act of the USA... meaning you can run there with your kids and he couldn't have you hauled back to the home state with them.
So, hope things are looking up. Remember, it isn't your fault. He has (possibly had some rough times overseas, and if so, changes) but he has had a kinda "bubble" like you say and hasn't lived regular day to day---he's in his way been static. That isn't functional, and it isn't YOUR fault. Sometimes a "mantra" helps to get you thru a nite...so tell yourself it was not you, you did nothing wrong. I know how excited you were this past year or so, with his visits, and could see and feel it from your writings and author's note. You did your best.
Keep that in mind.

I have to say that I think this is the BEST virgin Buffy I have read...it was so realistic and god don't forget the tenderness from Spike. Yep, you can believe your eyes, it's really me! I had to be away from spuffy for quite a while (kicking and screaming, but what can you do when there's only 24 hours in a day and RL is demanding 25?). I had to come here and see how you're doing, since I still can't get my e-mails through to you :(. I guess your email-provider thinks my mails are garbage and deletes them before they reach you or something, because the problem started when you changed your address...
I haven't read this story yet, because I had to make a desicion that I read only finished stories for now (when I came back, I read too many un-finished stories side by side and finally I was so mixed up with what happened in each that nothing I read made sense anymore).
So now I'm torturing myself by not reading this...I really didn't know I could show so much self-discipline in something that I love as much as reading your stuff *giggles*
I read some of your AN:s and I'm sad to see how much bad stuff has happened/is happening to you lately :( *comforting hug*. In my experience the bad always seems to come in bulk, but fortunately so does the good, so some really fabulous things are ordered to come your way in the near future :)
I wish you all the best in the world and since you already got three very important parts going for you; your kids, good friends and humour (the black kind always works for me when my life seems to suck the most :), everything will look brighter again soon!
