Ah clever plan; this is the only way Spike will be strong enough and able to help. And they won't expect it.
And it seems to me that it was good that Willow and Joyce were at Giles'. They pushed things a bit, helping Buffy and Spike. The other appeared to be a bit frozen.
I'm really really glad they made it out of it :)

You paint a very clear picture of life as a captive in the Initiative. Now I'm wondering whether Riley will be a good guy and help them escape or not. The truce needs some time to develop into mutual trust though, so I'm not holding my breath. The Initiative obviously aren't aware they're attracting the wrath of not just the Slayer and her Watcher, but an unstable witch, the COW and Joyce, who wields a mean axe.
I so look forward to the smack-down! Still... in the meantime let's have some Spuffy bonding...

Author's Response: I'm not sure where Riley will fall in this story, he keeps writing himself. I think he'll be a little more on the fence than in canon, but we'll see. They definitely need time to work on the trust, but there is some there already, enough to cast the other doubts aside until they get out at least. And yeah, the Initiative will have all hell break loose for sure! Thanks for reviewing and I'll update as soon as I can.

These people are sick, it's funny they call the others animals, when they're the real monsters. Idiots don't even know a human when they see one, when Giles finds out about this, there will be hell to pay. I hope Buffy and Spike give them exactly what they deserve and burn the place to the ground, and hopefully the truce will last once they do get out. At least Riley seems to have a bit of a conscience, even though I don't have much respect for him for working there in the first place. Can Walsh possibly have a very bloody death? I would love to see that. The psycho bitch seriously needs to die.

And Riley is turning out to be pretty interesting in this story because he's not really following the line that I plotted for him... I enjoy fics where Spike is his confident Big Bad self but in a situation where he has to make a truce with the Slayer. Great plot idea and I can't wait for teh next update and the conversation coming up between Spike and Buffy. Wonder what experiments they've already done on her and what tests are waiting? Wonderful story idea, quick and descriptive writing, please update soon!
