The baby's asleep, the dog's been walked and I've wrested the internet from my husband. Time for a more detailed comment on your story. I love the way this scene feels like an initiation for Buffy. It seems like her inquiry into the boy's relationship and the fact she's dating Riley have implied she's grown up enough to play a more equal part in their friendship, even if the boys still treat her like a kid. I also like the use of really sexual language in the scene that totally goes over Buffy's head.
The only critique I have is that I wish there'd been a sentence or two of description for the Aunt. She's mentioned but we don't know what she looks like.
Finally, just want to say I have a crush on this story like it's just rendered my portrait in sugar. Can't wait for the next post.

Author's Response: I really want this story to focus a lot on Buffy coming of age, hence this chapter. And I've gotta have some Spike innuendo, wouldn't be him without it! I know I definitely need to work on more descriptive things. I've done a lot of playwriting recently, so I have a tendency to focus on dialogue and action more than anything else. It means a lot that you like my story so much! It makes writing it even more enjoyable. Thanks so much for the detailed review!

I like the bit about single people's Christmas decorations, that was so apt. Another chapter that reminded me of high school, you're so good at capturing the mood. Looking forward to more.

Author's Response: People without kids always have immaculate Christmas decor. I'm more of an eclectic homemade decoration kind of person.
