This is so, so sad. My God, no Spike. That has to be the worst thing ever. Damn right, having Spike around made a difference to Buffy and everyone. And now she's trapped here with no way to communicate with him, and nothing of her life (no scars or rings,or his claim mark) I shudder to think what's happening to Spike whereever he is.
Still don't care for Riley too much, but I guess he's more "likable" here. *shrug*

This is one F****d up world hon.
I've always thought that Giles deep down had to resent the hell outta Buffy for what happened in S2 and the way she acted in S3. That to me was one of the low points for Buffy's character(besides S8 UGH!) She never apologized to Giles, just went right back to treating Angel like some sweet guy that they all had to like, cause she said so.Forgetting all of Giles' pain on losing Jenny and the torture Angelus put him through. :( I guess that's why I kinda dislike S3..it was just wrong IMO.

I'm loving it even tho the angst is off the charts. Hopefully you'll give us some answers soon. :) *squish*

PS: Love the shout out to "It's a Wonderful Life" one of my all time fave movies. :)

Oh yes, my muse is paying me back for making him write all that happy stuff around Christmastime ... he's paying me back in spades with the angst! It still really hasn't even started ... hold on to your tissues!

Don't get too used to liking Riley ... it won't last.

Yeah, I thought Giles would've been more pissed about Angelus than he was and I thought Buffy was just a bit too forgiving of him ... But this Giles defniately isn't over it, not after what Angelus did without Spike to stop him. Unfortunately, that will make Giles a bit unlikeable, as well, later, but perhaps understandably so.

More clues will be on the way and I think by Chapter 4 you'll pretty much know what's going on and then we'll get into how to fix it...

Glad you liked the 'wonderful life' tie in ...that's a totally classic movie, no doubt!! **jingle jingle**

This reminds me a lot of the episode "normal again" (I think that's the name). There would be a lot of differences without Spike. I guess this means that no unsouled Spike of this dimmension will show up. I feel bad for everyone now, not just Buffy. Everyone in this reallity seems broken it must have been really hard for this Riley.

Author's Response: Hi Magnus! Yes!! Exactly like 'Normal Again' where Buffy isn't 100% sure what life is real. The only difference being she definately knows which one she'd rather be in and it doesn't include Finn... I think it is safe to say that a souled Spike won't turn up for her in the Finn/Dawn world. Riley did get the short end of the stick in this world, that's for sure ... he deserves some sympathy for his plight. I typically don't like Riley that well, but I did feel sorry for what my muse has put him through. Will have more soon. Thanks so much for reading and always stopping in! Love all the developments made so far in this world. It is tragic, but interesting to see how totally integral Spike was to so much good that happened in their little bubble. Very well done. Update soon.

My muse had this idea on his mind for a long while and kept going through all the stuff that Spike touched ... there was probably more, but I just picked out the big things. Really amazing how a 'throw-away character' became such a big part of their lives ... kudos to JM for making Spike so popular (and hot!). Will have more soon ... the angst has only just begun.
