I have to peek back on and give the odd review though! I thought you handled her goodbye scene with her dad very well. I also like the character of Ellen. I keep expecting her to turn evil, but so far - she seems pretty full of win.

Author's Response: Oh, never heard of Nook before. Most people I know use Kindle. Tablets are awesome for us ravenous readers. ;) I think most people expected her to be evil. That was my intention. *g* Thank you for being lovely!!

Strong Buffy, glad that she knew that Spike would be there for her. Good thing he trusts his gut. And thank heavens that Ellen is one of the good guys. A couple of seconds there where it could have gone either way, but I'm glad she's good and understands enough. Love that she used to be married to a watcher, does kind of explain the amazing weapons collection. Was that the scythe Buffy was connecting with? So very glad that they are back together again. I wonder if the alone time will give them a chance to share their feelings. Not easily, of course, but eventually. :) Update soon!

Author's Response: She's handling things pretty well considering the sudden turn of events. You'll see more of the fallout int he next chapter, which should be up very soon. Yup, Ellen is one of the good guys. I had her whole background story about being married to a watcher made up as soon as I introduced her. I like that you weren't 100% sure about her though. ;) The weapon wasn't scythe... exactly. But it's something very similar. Spike/Buffy moments coming up! I'm very excited about it as I missed writing their interactions. Now we'll see them develop the connection between them more thoroughly. Thank you for the sweet review!!! :)

Ah, Dru.. a little help to William/Spike.. and now through Hallie she understands her delimma.. Magic weapons.. from Ellen.. wondered if her husband was a watcher.
Now about the original knife she gave Buffy?
Waiting for more with Spike and Buffy.. and of course a meeting sooner of later with Angelus and Spike's girls..

Author's Response: Dru is sneaky when she wants to be. Yup, Ellen's ex is a watcher and he sure had to be mad when she took all those antique weapons from him. *g* It proved to be a good thing for Buffy.
The original knife was just a gift, it didn't have any special meaning or powers. :)
