Love this happy little chapter. I realize the happiness may not continue unimpeded, so I'll just savor it for a few minutes.

And I have always loved Oscar, but haven't read nearly enough about him. Your factoid about his subversive little society makes me love him ever so much more! And his mom, too!

Author's Response: Thanks SD! Yeah, I ended up being fasinated with Oscar. I'll be honest, researching him was a joy and I had to force myself to stop reading about him and write already!

Hey there - Remember me??? Sorry about the lack of response. I've just moved.... Argh! What a nightmare. Remind me not to do that again anytime soon. Trying to get cable and internet hooked-up - seemingly impossible for the cable and internet technician. Although, it did give me plenty of opportunities to watch the Buffster and Spike and William - I'm such a sucker for "Fool for Love". I swear my DVD is going to die one day from watching it too much!

Anyway, back to you and your lovely story. The only thing I have to say to you is "Did you get possessed by Oscar Wilde?" I swear you are spot-on. So many things you have him say or the way you make him act is totally how I picture him. AND I absolutely adore that you have Buffy be the inspiration for Dorian Grey!! Nice reaction to Bram Stoker as well! ;-)

What plans do the couple have for the Hellmouth....? I'm so glad the next chapter is already up! Thanks again for you great story.

Author's Response: Hell yes I remember you. I look forward to hearing your insight. When you didn't respond, I wasn't so concerned that you thought it sucked as I was "I wonder if everything is ok with Inara." I'm relieved that things are (ok). Ugh...moving? GOD I hate it. I used to have nightmares about it. I'm trying to be up about the (possibly) impending one because I hate where I live now and love where the move would return me to. I hope your move has been a good one. I will confess, I LOVED Oscar. The more I read of him and about him, the more there was to love. It was hard to say goodbye, but on the upside, my original outline had Dru killing him on the Hellmouth.

Aaaah, the brilliance of working in the Bram Stoker just tickled me! :D And it was a very interesting tidbit I didn't know about. One of many, many reason why I LOVE this story so much.

Oh yeah, who wouldn't remember Uncle Thomas and the hilarious dumping of the pudding right on his head. :D

Author's Response: Thanks EoR! I didn't know a lot of this stuff either - and when I found it out while researching, I got VERY excited. Esp. about the Dracula connection!

Your stories are always enlightening! Love the end notes! And this chapter was especially entertaining - quite funny throughout layered with sweetness. Loved all the quotes and Oscar 'stealing' a saying from Buffy! Cool tie-in with Bram Stoker, too! And just what did you have to do to join the 'Society for the Prevention of Virtue' and where do we sign up? I'll also miss Oscar - you did an extraordinary job with him! Now on to the Hellmouth, I presume? Not feeling great about this ... fingers crossed!

Author's Response: I'm glad that you don't know what's going to happen next! That's my goal - to not telegraph it. It was nearly as difficult to say goodbye to Oscar as it was to kill Billy. Originally Oscar was to be killed by Dru at the Hellmouth, but in the end, I couldn't bring myself to it. Big Chicken. Thanks for your support and feedback.

Sad indeed to watch Oscar go, but I do enjoy the impact our blonds had on classic literature. (And his awareness of her abuse of language.) :) Society for the prevention of virtue, I'm in! And it is probably better for Oscar to let him free. Hope they do meet up again. I miss his take on the teas of America. And William will inevitably become her go to researcher anyway. And I fear that the end is still approaching, but I look forward for the next chapter, regardless. And I've finally done enough research to realize that I've somehow missed an update and thus explaining why I'm finding gaps in what is going on, vs what I remember. I am promptly going to fix this. :) Update soon!

Author's Response: Two chapters to go! But one of my betas, Science, is visiting me in real life and we've been so busy doing things (and playing Buffy drinking games) that I haven't gotten a lot of writing done lately! But I have almost 1,000 words of the next chapter - so it's beeting there.

So glad you gave Oscar a nice send off and didn't kill him. That would be just too sad.

Charming chapter. Looking forward to Buffy & William arriving at the Sunnydale hellmouth and I assume a cnfrontation with Dru and the Shining Man.

Author's Response: It's weird when I look at my old notes on the last few chapters and I have Dru killing Oscar. So glad I took it another way. Not to say Dru is toothless, by any means!
