Whew. I just re-read this story for the - what, sixth? - time and it's still so so great. I just had to come read the reviews on it! (Is there a fan community for fan fiction?)

I just knew with all that coughing, William had consumption. After giving our couple such a hard time, surely, SURELY, the Powers That Be will send Buffy & William back to Buffy's time so he can be treated? I refuse to believe that they died.

Perhaps if your muse returns, William and Buffy could land in Sunnydale (pre-crater, knocking over the sign, of course), where he could be treated. And of course he would get to see the famous Spike! Somehow I think William would like Sunnydale, what with all the biknees...

Author's Response: You are so sweet Ann. It means so much to me that you read the story more than once. I still see so many mistakes in it that when I try to reread it, I can't! I guess that's a problem that some writers have - I certainly have it. But the fact that you like it enough to reread it give me hope and helps me not to give up. Since you like biknees - I'm not sure if you know that there was an auction and someone bid for me to return to the world of William and Elizabeth - so I did a thing of "deleted scenes" once of which features biknees. Not sure if you say it so here it is...http://auction.dark-solace.org/?p=810

Hey there! Sorry about the super late response... things have been a little crazy over on my end.

Thank you so much for a wonderful story and a much needed sequel to the lives of Buffy and William. This story was fantastic and I loved seeing the evolution of both Buffy and William. Although I am saddened that William had to lose some of his adorable innocence as he faced both human and real monsters, I loved his transformation and, more importantly, loved that both William and - eventually - Buffy, learned how to change together. They both realized that they truly were partners and that this partnership wasn't dependent on physical strength, but rather the strength that they found in each other. Thank you so much once again... and if a little one-shot for those to characters is rattling around in the writing genius you call a brain... *please* don't hesitate to share. ;-)

Can't wait to read more from you and I hope you have a successful move!!!

Author's Response: Thanks Inara. I was a little worried about the ending, but when the story popped into my head, this was the ending it had. And no matter how I twisted and turned, it was the ending it insisted on having. You've been such a little beam of encouragement as I wrote this and I can't thank you enough. The move, unfortunately, didn't actually happen, so I'm stuck here for a bit longer :( Hope to see you in another story soon.

Been thinking... By high school, she could be dyed blond. :) Quite a ride. Thanks again.

Author's Response: Why not? Buffy was dying in HS!

God damn it, Puddin, you made me cry. I couldn't have hoped for a more perfect ending. And actually, I loved the fact the ending is sort of open and lets us draw our own conclusion as to where they ended up.

They've grown throughout this story so much and to the point where William ended up being the perfect and equal partner to not just Elizabeth, but to Buffy, the Slayer.

It was a beautiful story full of heart and humour and if the world was fair, it'd be talented writers like you earning shitloads of money instead of awful writers (cough, E.L. James, cough) without a speck of imagination. I'm really looking forward to reading anything new from you, whenever that may be!!! Love your stuff.

Author's Response: THANKS. This is going to be one of those reviews that I save for days when I feel like I can't write for shit. Which is lots of days! Hope to be back with another story soon.

Awesome, awesome story. Enjoyed it every step of the way. Original and believable interpretations of Elizabeth/ Buffy and William's characters and motivations and insight into their evolving relationship. Great work. I hope inspiration hits you again - I'd love to see a sequel one day!!

Author's Response: Thank you so much(I get a mental picture of Badger from Breaking Bad, turned vampire!) Hope to have another Spuffy story some day

Love it.

I'd love to see what happened to them... would have liked to see William get even closer to Spike's badassery and confidence; one of the things I like most about Spike is his love of the fight, how he likes to fight alongside Buffy, how much he respects and gets excited about Buffy's prowess... William got closer to that, but while he admires Buffy's power and skill, he's still reluctant to fight or to watch her fight, while Spike revels in it.

Ultimately, as much as I'd like to find out how they fared, I'm ok with the open-ended conclusion as I can choose to imagine an ending to my own preferences... since Buffy went back to William's time originally to give him what he deserves, part of me feels like the PTB are just being dicks here if they felt like the difficult row Buffy & he had to hoe was what he deserved. But then maybe they wanted him to be able to die a hero again... maybe that's what would fulfull him the most.

Great story, thank you!

Author's Response: Thank you SD. Yes, I understand what you mean about Spike's badassery. Here he was the "thinker" of the duo and in the previous tale he'd begun to fight a little bit. Thanks for the feedback.

Fabulous job. I thought the ending was perfect. You accomplished everything you set out to do on chronicling their respective journeys. And I learned a lot of history on top of it! Well done.

Author's Response: Thank you seapea! Hope the history wasn't too ... teacherish :)

Fantastic. It was all about the journey. I love how much Buffy grew throughout both tales. So confident in herself as a woman and as a slayer. She and William were in it for the long haul - for forever. I it supremely unlikely that they did not end up in another time or dimension, given how Buffy ended up back in the 1800's in the first place. I cannot imagine Sunnydale without a hellmouth. Thanks for sharing. I loved the ride and looked forward to your updates.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for the feedback, ace. Readers like you keep me (and lots of authors) going. Now that I'm not writing it, I don't know what to do with myself!

I hope one day your muse tells you what happens to Buffy and William, I know we'd all love to know. And I fully agree that inside William was always a hero's heart just waiting for someone to allow him to show it. Love this spuffy couple - lovely story.

Ok, you asked for negatives - I have only one thing I would've changed: At the end I would've loved a longer goodbye with many, many more tears, thoughts of dashed dreams, unborn children, lost potential, perhaps guilt on Buffy's part for coming back and bringing William here, etc.

Overall, of course, I loved the story and hope we hear more from them sometime in the future.

Brava!

Author's Response: Yes, and THANK YOU. I love constructive criticism. That would have been a nice touch - to think of the unborn children etc. If I had it to write again I would like to try it with an aside to William thinking these thoughts. Partly, he was under a time constraint. Also, I saw him at that moment of being very ... selfless. And when I got in his head, tried to think his thoughts. He was just in that moment for me at that time. But you make a great point. Thanks for sticking it out with me :)
