Sweet little Angelpie. Glad that Bess found something to relate to and let in. So much easier to believe that the love of an animal is genuine than that of a person somethings. And it's good to know that Angelpie has better instincts when it comes to vampires than rats. I'm pretty sure that rat was just playing. In my experience there are three kinds of rats, those that are afraid of cats, those that are indifferent to cats, and those that chase the cats. But all of my cats have been afraid of the rats. I'm always properly cautious to keep anyone from getting hurt, but I know the rats try to mess with them on purpose sometimes. Unconventional, sure, but they make great pets. :) Glad she reunited Suzie-Q with her brother. Goes to show you may not always be right when you decide what others must be thinking. Hopefully she'll take a little of her own advice here. Update soon!

Author's Response: Hi BuffyRat! LOL! on the cats afraid of the rats! Although I had a 'pack' of dogs (at one time had 7 on my farm) and they were all afraid of the tom cat. They would part like the red sea if he walked through the middle of them. Not litle dogs, or meek dogs, either! I've never had a rat for a pet, but had hamsters, of course, as a child (who didn't?). Rats are really quite smart but I do hate them sneaking around at night eating the birdseed in the feeders and fruit off my trees ... ugh. I think Bess' heart is starting to melt - first with Angelpie and then with Sue-Ann ... we'll find out what she finds in Philly in a couple more chapters. Thanks so much for stopping in! Love hearing from you! -p4s 2011.12.28

Well your muse sure knows how to make you care about a character in this case a pet and then bring on the bone chilling danger and angst. Bess obviously has issues that she needs to over-come such as the fear paralysis when she witnessed the ambush of the cheerleader slayer in the alley. Angelpie is a brave kitty risking one of her nine lives to save Bess. *Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!* sorry saw the opportunity to use that phrase like Xander did in the episode “Passion” for the TV show. Angelpie must be sent by Wanda to watch over Bess on her journey to find her way back to the family that loves and misses her. Really enjoyed where Bess reunited Sammy and Sue Ann together, this shows her desire to ease the pain she feels through others. I could say much, much more as you are familiar with from my past reviews but all I can say is “HAPPY HOLIDAYS!” for now. Take care and give your muse some rum and eggnog and a prezzie of coconut oil combined with a g-string to keep him out off the streets and creating mayhem and mischief. Ta!

Author's Response: Hi Vette! Hope you had a happy holiday, as well!! Thanks! I do keep that g-string and coconut oil handy, no worries! He's already started planning the next catastrophe to befall our Spuffy family as we speak (even before finishing the one they're embroiled in!) ... bad dog! He is terrible at making us care about someone (or something) and then slamming it sickeningly against the wall. He's so very evil ... good thing he's so damn hot ... esp in that g-string! YowZa! Gotta keep him around for that, if nothing else! Of course, he loves to make me cry and, crazy person that I am, I love it when he tortures me that way! Hurt me, hurt me good! Damn evil fiend! I can't resist his evil attraction! Will have more soon! {hugs} -p4s 2011.12.25

Still a lot of sadness but a lot more hope. She met more nice people and the kitten. She really needs it, someone to love and take care of. But it would destroy her if it was killed, so it better survive untill she has more to love. Meeting Angelpie (like the name) and Sue-Ann was ment to happen of course to give Bess ties to the world and a sense of selfworth.

Author's Response: Hi Magnus! Yeah, she had a close call there, but I think the kitten has shown her that it's ok to let somthing into her heart; if it had died, that would've been a hard blow for her. Also, seeing that she could help others, like Sue-Ann, outside of the Slayerness definately gives her a sense of self-worth. Perhaps there was a soft hand of fate propelling her towards Cleveland ... just as her dream will now take her to Philadelphia. We'll check back in on her there soon. Thanks so much for stopping in! Always love to hear from you! -p4s 2011.12.25
