Oh thank you, thank you... All my life I've wondered what that was...Hireath! Being of Welsh and Irish decent, I could never figure out why I was never 'at home' in my own skin, yet when I visited the UK I was at peace and content. Thank you for opening my eyes! Great story, love all the snippets of poems and vereses.

OMG That was sooooooo spectacular in the realm of first kisses. Seriously I hate how some writers just smash them together, no hesitancy like in real life. I LOVED THIS CHAPTER!!! Excellent description.

I don't know if you ever come back to these; but I needed to say this is one of the most beautiful, moving scenes I've read in a fic. Thank you so much.

Author's Response: It was one of my favorite scenes to write. This chpater was particularly emotional for me, and it was one of the things I wanted to do differently from the show. Buffy's confession of where she'd been shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone. . . . most especially Spike. I always come back to these reviews, because each one is important, and I'm always happy to see someone appreciate my efforts.

just a quick review before i slide into dreamland...absolutely the sexiest, most intense moment i have read in a VERY long time. the vulnerability of the moment preceding it only heightened the emotional (and physical) impact of the scene between Buffy and Spike. just wow. i could feel Spike's breaths across the crown of my head. i could feel the dampness of Spike's t-shirt. just incredible imagery. i cannot stress that enough. you excel in the ability to place a reader in the scene you are creating. i am continually impressed, also, by your characterization. Tara changing her mind in the middle of the night is such a thing she would do. at this point and time, with her hope still intact, Tara would do the kind, selfless thing and get into bed with Willow even if she wasn't comfortable. i'm so glad that Dawn woke up and offered Tara her bed. i hated that Tara remained so much of an outsider of the Scoobies even in season 6 of BtVS. this simple act of sleeping in Dawn's bed, rather than the couch downstairs, can only reinforce the bond that Tara has already built with Dawn (and with Spike). if anyone should leave the house, it is Willow not Tara. wonderful, incredible revelations in this chapter. often times the biggest revelations come when you least expect them. i love the continual theme you have running through every chapter, of Spike being 'Protector', offering safety. i see this as being very instrumental in the unfolding of events to come. and i eagerly look forward to seeing Spike fulfill his potential as protector.

Damn...could this get any better....I mean that was the one of the most tender moments i have ever read.....Gods it is just so great to have you explore the feelings that Spike and Buffy had for each other...letting it be a tender and passionate story not one of constant abuse that she inflicted on him in S6....Thanks for taking an insanity break to give us a sweet present

I love you! That line about "where do the strong go to be weak" is so perfect a description for Buffy's life and sums up nicely one of the issues I had with the show about Buffy's treatment. Whether right or wrong, Buffy started to really cut herself off after losing Angel because I believe she felt he was the only one she could be weak with and that she didn't find someone else to be vulnerable with 'til Spike. Not to go off on a ranty tanget, I love that you are delving into this aspect of her character development and in relation to her rescurrection. Because that is another area that I felt could have gone even farther with its consequences. For all its darkness and drama, to some degree, I felt that S6 didn't push the consequences of her rescurrection - for Buffy herself and for those who took part in it - enough. I love that you are. And finally, I was very worried about Tara after the last chapter. I'm so thrilled she wised up and walked out on Willow, not buying in to her excused.
