I do have to say, I agree with some of what Albie says. Again, I do like the story, but I really don't like reading in the a/n about how the writers of the show have "messed it up." If they were such bad writers, why are you using their material? I, personally, really liked season 6. It makes no sense to me that Dawn would be the "child" of Spike and Buffy, or however you want to put it. For instance, I really liked Spike's speech on how he saved Buffy every night, lots of different ways from the show better than the way you had him tell her. I guess what I'm babbling on about is that you are writing a fan fiction, and yes you are talented, but the ideas you are using - and a lot of the dialogue is from these writers that you are criticizing. And as far as the wicca vs witch thing - I know nothing about wiccas or witches or any of that stuff, but before you get upset about the way the show used the terms as if they were the same, please remember they didn't really care. Most of the spells, monsters, etc are made up by the writers, admittedly so. They are just metaphors. This isn't a show about witches, wiccans or vampires. It is a show about the characters. Sorry, but most of the audience could care less about the "accuracy" of the use of the terms. I know I don't. You talk about how you could do a better job, but I doubt it. While your story fills a need to see Spike and Buffy together and to see everyone respect Spike and accept him, it's not believable. Sorry.

To Albie, Shippy did read your review from top to bottom. And the word "arrogant" which you repeated in your reply is unacceptable. The author is anything but that.

The thing about Dawn not only made from Buffy, from Spike too? Heard it before, seems logical. And the crumbs? Awe, that were more than crumbs :)

dawn always reminded me of spike. she was just so much like him and i had hoped they would explore that. like alot of things they did not. the writers at ME are NOT gods and they are not above making mistakes. i believe that if joss had not started firefly and left marti in control it would have been different and we all would have like season 6 better. this has been debated over and over and over again so i will not rehash but many many of us were unhappy with it. thank you for your authors notes. i find it refreshing that you are honest and i don't believe you are being arrogant.....just truthful.........keep up the unbelievable writing..........you should be published and i also think that Joss himself should read this!!!

In regard to shippy's comment about dismissing my review, calling it a "bad review", if Shippy had actually, you know, looked closer, i didn't insult your writing or your story. In fact, i very much enjoy your story and what you have done with everything. Especially Willow's callousness and the tender way you are portraying Spike and Buffy. HOWEVER, in my original review, what i DID criticize were your author's notes, wherein you deemed yourself doing a better job than the ME writers., repeatedly and how i felt that was arrogant and rude to the writers that created the very characters that we so enjoy playing with. I do hope that you recognized what i actually SAID and didn't puff up and flit about like some other people. I look forward to what is to come and for any reason, since i didn't sign in, you would like to contact me, my email is albie27@gmail.com

Spike and Buffy being Dawn's parents makes perfect sense! In fact I thought of a way that the Buffy sacrifice would work with that. The knife that was used to cut Dawn was first used to cut Spike. His blood on the knife mixed with hers and kept the portal from opening full blast and Buffy's blood completed the genetic puzzle. I thought that they were going to do this in season 6 . I'm glad you've taken up the dropped plot line.

Disregard Albie's review entirely. Season 6 although very good in many ways should have been a lot better. I also believe that Dawn's origins should have been dealt with. Dawn's blue eyes and cheek bones make her a possible child of Spike's. I loved the 'crumbs' and can't wait for more. And please don't let a bad review get you down. You're worth exactly what you're saying and more.

I'm continuing to enjoy this story very much and love the directions in which you're taking all the characters in your own S6. I do enjoy reading your Notes and your thoughts about the actual S6. ;) Thanks!

I'm really enjoying your story, i love your spins and I do appreciate what you've done with Buffy's resurrection, as well as Willow's lack of understanding and hunger for power. That being said, something i find glaring in almost every single chapter is your author's note. Being that in every single entry, you disparage the ME writers and choices and how you feel you can do it better. i think it's rather arrogant of you to thrust that much importance upon yourself and your writing to even compare yourself to these writers. Was i thrilled with every choice or episode ME penned? No, but i would not think myself so much better if i had been writing for the show. I am thankful and in deep admiration of season 6, as well as all the others of this brilliant, original show. I enjoy fanfiction because it does give me spins i would have enjoyed, however, i do not think a story i enjoy more made the "right" choice or even the "better" choice. One is canon and one is fanon, and i find that the former demands much more respect. Now again, i really am enjoying this fic, and i do think you are a talented writer, but i do think the writers deserve the respect simply by creating the characters and universes that you are playing with right here.

So fucking beautiful. You took a very memorable moment from season 5 and brought it to fruition just like I always dreamed of seeing it on the show. Bless you. This was exactly how I wanted to see them come together and more. I was flat out crying when she whispered "crumbs". I can't tell you how gratifying it is to see everything I ever wanted to occur during season 6 in your incredible words. It is a crying shame that you were not working for Joss instead of Marti. I would pay just about anything to see your version of these events on the small or big screen. This chapter grabbed me at Dawn's study of the 2 photos and wouldn't let go. Fabulous follow-up on Dawn's birth lineage plotline. We all (and I mean viewers) could see the blatantly obvious resemblance between Dawn and Spike. The link between Buffy and Spike, from season 5 on, was never just intense UST. It was tangible in the form of Dawn. Whether fans want to admit it or not, she brought them together - fighting together for the same cause. Only something as powerful as blood could weaken the walls Buffy had built around her heart and allow Spike in her life. That's how she's built. I hated that the writers on BtVS dropped the storyline of Dawn's history as the key and her parentage. They disclose that Dawn was made from Buffy in 'The Gift', and yet they never significantly mention it again. Very sloppy. Dawn's character was used to build ratings and serve as a plot device season 5 and then essentially discarded. I felt very cheated after season 5, because I had developed an emotional attachment to Dawn and wanted to see her character grow. I'm so happy you are investing some serious time on her character in this fic. I'm also happy that you are allowing Buffy to be as vulnerable as she is right now. I think Buffy having a panic attack is perfectly natural for the emotional state she's in right now. And I believe her crying jags are natural as well. She spent untold amount of time in a loving, peaceful heavenly dimension only to be thrust into her constricting grave in the blink of an eye. It wouldn't surprise me if she suffered from some mild PTSD down the line. I have always believed that she could have benefited from some professional counseling post-resurrection. Her mother died, she died, and she was resurrected - three MAJOR life stress events. It's a blessing that Spike is the only one there with Buffy and is allowing her to just feel. I love that you linked the "rejection" of Buffy from heaven to her rejection at the hands of Riley. Such a natural progression of beliefs for the emotionally heightened state she's in. Everything was just pitch perfect in this chapter. And the kissing/grinding wasn't half bad either *wink, wink*. Very sexy, very intimate, very...*sigh* I cannot wait to see your interpretation of the look on Spike's face after his revelation about the "crumbs" Buffy has just given him.

Hot and moveing - now there is a combination, Loved it! The whole chapter rocked. I love the idea of Dawn coming from both Buffy and Spike. Such a cool avenue for exploration. And the ups and downs of Buffy's emotions rings so true for me. These are the types of plotlines and moments I wish could've been explored.

Yay! Amazing like every other chapter! Wondering where Willow is going to end up! Rack? Hmm.... And Dawn with the wondering about her heritage. Never understood how they could expect us too believe she was only made out of Buffy, what with the completly different looks and such... Hoping for more soon :-)
