The problem with Xander is that he sees what he wants to see. He is very black and white and never aknowledges anything complex. If someone did wrong in the beginning, then they fall in the black forever. If they did good first, they will always be in the white. I love Xander because he has a big heart and wants the best for Buffy and Willow, but he thinks he is always right and knows what is best for them 100%.

Ok, just for the record I usually wait until I am done with a story before reviewing, but I can't. That said, I just read the AN on this chapter (30) and wanted to say WooHoo to someone who agrees with me about Xander. He actually started out fairly well but in the end just hearing his voice grated on my nerves. He was so bloody closed minded! Grr! Ok, so now that I said that, wanted to also say great job so far. Really enjoying the story!

Oh, and I love Xander. But he really was an ass for much of season 6!

I just discovered this story; and am toughly hooked! I'll try an comment coherently later, but this is great stuff. I'm loving this re-telling of season 6. In this chapter I love the confrontation. I'm occasionally thought that one of things that went wrong in season 6 was all the secrets-- bringing them all out is an interesting approach, and I'm anxious to see where you take it!

Hey! Great chapter again!
Xander is very annoying. I'm glad not only Buffy, the other Scoobies too stood by Spike. And Giles too. Never thought he would.

How can you get better with each chapter and yet you do? More.

You made fantasies come true for those of us who many times were appalled by Xander’s judgmental and hypocritical behavior throughout the series and cringed at the oblivious treatment by ME towards it. Great!

First of all CONGRATS on the nominations you deserve them....This chapter just speaks volumes....Though it was just like nothing happened in the kitchen when they all settled in for the breakfast...ignoring Willow's shit...but that's ok it will come....Spike and Buffy coming down those stairs HOT HOT HOT and more hot....you bring that hottness off the page and believe most of us thank you for that *grins*.....Xander ohhhh Xander...how i have hated him from the beginning...but this this is just what he would of done had TV not prevented it from happening in some way and the writers not giving him the chance to show his true colors...lil does Xander remember that she tried to rape Buffy also when he was hyenna....that is sooooooo forgotten...so not ever addressed and Spike is the evil one....I THINK NOT.....Tara once again coming in to help and proving once again she is not a force to mess with....I am glad to see the Scoobies standing up to him and showing him that he is a total ass and needed his ass kicked...hmmmmmmm what shall the fall out be with this episode......my feeling is that Xander is about to learn a really really really harsh life lesson and there is not a damn thing he can do about...well SO BE IT...that ass...that ingrate...that git...that ohhhhhhh he makes my blood boil worse than Willow's and that is hard...Excellent way of bringing out what should of come out in the show in some form...Thank you and again Congrats on the nominations

You're vision of this is so much similar to mine. I love how you write your characters and I would've so wanted to see this as a season seven on tv than what it actually was.

I just giggled all the way through. Loved it. I'm sure this chapter will be reread again and again. It's so satisfying.

I'm all for a little tempered Xander bashing. He bugged me so much in the series. Josh once said that Xander's character was the closest to real life of any of the characters (being flawed as it is), but I have to say enough when it comes to Xander always being so blind about Buffy and his hatred for both Angel and Spike (and I'm not even an Angel/Buffy fan). Anway great chapter!

Wow - that chapter was a doozy! An amazing scene on the stairs ("NOW we go"... tee hee) followed by Xander getting the retribution he should have gotten on the show, but never did. I actually don't think that Xander went much more overboard here than in canon. Although he did havea valid excuse in Season 6 with Seeing Red, I thinhk his treatment of Spike has always revealed more about Xander's own character than it did Spike's. So, bravo and thank you! Now, get them back on the stairs already!

LOVED it! Stupid Xander - althought this was a little extreme Xanderhatred anger, not too out of character for my tastes. I love Tara stepping up and telling it to Xander. And the moment between Buffy and Spike on the stairs before...sigh. I love this story.

Wow. I wasn't prepared for Xander to go postal. He does have issues with anger though, so I'm not surprised. He also has maaaaajor issues with vampires due to his best friend Jesse being turned and his jealousy of Angel. If someone would have addressed those issues long ago, Xander might not be the pillock he is today. Faulty reasoning, misplaced aggression and blame, etcetera, ecetera. Xander is in serious need of therapy, always has been, always will be. That, and a swift kick in the butt. While his actions are suspect, his motives are true. Xander always has been loyal to a fault. Where his loyalty gets him in trouble though is how it has spun off into resistance to change. If one cannot grow and accept change, one cannot grow. I hope that Xander can come to some understanding with them. I think you wrote this confrontation very well. Very good action, great support from Giles, and wonderful defense from Buffy. Xander, at this point in his life, was at his most resistant to change - what with Buffy dying, his moving out on his own, becoming very serious with Anya, the shifting dynamics of the group. It is no surprise that he would take out his anger and fear of the changes he has been forced to undergo this past year on the "thing" that he perceives to be threatening his place in his "family". I do hope that friendship with Xander is salvageable and that this doesn't divide the group. Xander may be young, immature, and hot-headed, but he is family. Hopefully Anya, with her abundance of common sense, can straighten him out. She's the best thing that's ever happened to that boy. And now I sound like my Grandma. Gah! Oh, btw...the scene on the stairs between Spike and Buffy was TEH HOT! Poop on Xander for totally ruining the mood :P

congratulations on your nominations...wow...three....that is huge...you must be so proud........let me tell you how much i enjoyed the scene on the stairs. that will keep me going for a while.........LOL. Xander deserved the smakdown. he deserved one on the show but it never came. iwas very dissapointed in that. i thought his behavior was abhorent. xander can't think he can just say whatever he wants b/c hes human and spike is not. hes jealousy is coming thru in technocolor now. i liked taras barrier spell and i loved the way you had everyone come to spikes defence. bravo and about time they stood up for him

XANDER IS A COMPLETE ASS. I DON'T THINK HE WOULD HAVE ACTED THAT WAY IN THE SHOW THOUGH. I MEAN, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN FREAKED BUT HE WOULDN'T HAVE SAID ALL OF THOSE THINGS OT BUFFY IF HE HAD FOUND OUT ABOUT THEM EARLIER. THAT'S WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOU THE SIXTH SEASON. BUFFY AND SPIKES RELATIONSHIP WAS KEPT FROM EVERYBODY. XANDER WAS SAYING ALL OF THIS STUFF ABOUT BUFFY BEING STUPID FOR SLEEPING WITH SPIKE BUT HE WAS SEEYING ANYA. SHE WAS AN EX DEMON. I GUESS ANYA AND SPIKE HAD SOMETHING IN COMMON. XANDER JUST DIDN'T WANT TO ADMITT THAT HIS SITUATION WAS A LITTLE LIKE BUFFY'S. ANYA HAD TRIED TO KILL THEM ONCE BEFORE TOO. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. I REALLY LOVE THIS STORY.
