I really like what the difference in time does for the story. It makes me feel better about Anya and Giles. I also like that Samuel lived a human life. As criticism, I would say that the crescent birthmark on Samuel's hip should have been somewhere else - unless the location is somehow significant in the story. Why would a great(grand) nephew know about a birthmark under this man's clothes? But that is a small detail. Great chapter. I really like the flow of this story.
