First thing: thank you for swearing. The cursing just put Buffy's whole attitude on the situation in the perfect place. I loved it.
Buffy's scared, Buffy feels lost and she is feeling guilty and like she is unable to deal with things going on around her. Nobody is perfect, and judging her on that is ridiculous. There is not one person on this earth who feels PEFECTLY HAPPY ALL THE TIME. (Except maybe Spongebob) Criticizing Buffy for not knowing how to deal with her problems is ridiculous. Taking care of yourself is not being selfish. We watch people all around us every day who hurt themselves, hurt others, and spend their lives in misery because they feel they can't deal with their problems. They are not bad or selfish because they choose to continue their lives despite their problems. Shitting on Buffy because she chose her first is utterly asinine. Being an adult means dealing with your issues, whatever you feel with work.
That being said, just think before you review. It is a story, Buffy is a fictional character. These stories are AU for a reason, they are about us, humans, normal people; it isn't a perfect world.
