I've read this, and your previous two, in one glorious sitting. You have a very refreshing take on what is the most complex stage of Buffy and Spike's relationship. I can't wait to see where you take this latest story in the series!

Summary: What if Buffy didn't get the ring away from Spike in HLoD? Why would he let her go? What might happen if/when the Initiative tries to grab Spike when he has the Gem of Amara on his finger? Where might the story go from there, and how would Las Vegas figure into it? Goes wildly off-canon almost immediately.

I might have stayed away from this-- I don't read much that has any human-Buffy/ human-Spike. But this is a nice twist that I am really enjoying! ICan't wait to see how it develops!

Just want to say that I recently discovered this story and I am really enjoying it! I hope we find out more about what their daughter knew, if everything. I don't generally prefer all-human plots, but your use of the book from the alternative universe was a clever way to get the best of both worlds!
