Bringing Wood into the loop was a good way to get that confession out of him. I'm glad Buffy's loyalty to Spike didn't even waver at the news. Wood's vendetta will keep the tension between he and Spike taut.

I just finished reading all of the 7 chapters you have so far and was completely immersed and intrigued. This is a great S7 story that explores the season in a direction that, frankly, I thought it it was heading. Stupid me! It's refreshing to have actual conversations in which the issues between B&S as well as the rest of the characters are aired and resolved. Thank you for a well written story.

This was a fairly light chapter, and I really liked Spike caught in a quiet moment. You did a good job building up tension in Giles' scene, even though all the action was happening internally.

Author's Response: It was a light chapter but I thought it was due since the past few had been filled with so much angst. And for a bit of a spoiler, its the calm before the storm.

I'm enjoying this alternate Season 7, and the dialogue is very well written. I like the shifting relationships and the honesty between the characters. Xander's explanation of his fears was heart felt, and Buffy's explanation of her attachment to Xander was believable. Thanks for not having Spike and Buffy rush the intimacy, it rings true in this story.
