At long last, a glimmer of a connection between them! And, God, the way you did it makes it so much more enticing... her jealous outburst was uncharacteristically open of her... but that glimmer will be enough for Spike, won't it? He wasn't even that pissed off when he didn't get the searing kiss he'd wanted. He very perceptive and quick to assess a situation. He knows that Buffy's interested in him for more than her security now. That'll go a long way into everything he does and says, I think.

The torture scene was a bit too relaxed for me. In that sort of circumstance, I'd expect one, if not most of the participants and observers to be very hyped up and to hear it in their actions and dialogue. Although the description of the blood and state of Amy was graphic, the rest of the scene really did come over as just another normal session in the training room.

The Buffy/Spike scene in their room however was vibrating with emotion and tension. I actually squealed with excitement as the chapter ended (much to Spouse's surprise *teehee*). I desperately await the next update to one of my favourite WiP fics.

Author's Response: 1st part: Yea, Buffy has to say some uncharacteristic stuff, or else I'd never get anywhere with these two, lol. I try to keep those to a minimum though. And I don't think it's a complete reversal of power in the couple, but it definitely is a glimmer for Spike, isn't it? Although, they are both in their own kind of denial... 2nd: I see your point with the torture scene, but I guess I have the mentality that it's a casual occurence for them. I think they would be excited if it was Rack or someone though, so I'll keep it in mind for the future re-write ;) Thanks for the review!

Spike's a very clever man, and I'm happy that he's smart enough to listen to Buffy and formulate plans against a bastard like Angelus. Poor Amy, though- hurt and tortured for not too good of a reason. I'm glad things got figured out between Buffy and Spike a bit, too- they should know by now that they each have feelings for one another. Good update:)

You'll get no flaming from me. I enjoy the dark side of Spike - that's one of the things that makes him so sexy. In no way do I advocate rape, and I would never want to be raped, of course. I also don't think it would be possible to enjoy it if you are raped. But hey, it's a fantasy - and it's Spike - what more can I say?
