I'll give a little heads up here:
Hank is smitten with Spike right now, but in a while he will want to kill him.
This fiction is very loosely based on a story I read in Middle School. I never said anything before because I did not want to give the story line away.
I've added to it, of course and changed alot of the situations in it, added my own.
Since I pointed out, previously, that if you are familiar with Chuck Berry's 'You Never Can Tell' song, then you have a big, big hint as to one of the plot lines.
The name of the book I read in school was:
(Warning, major anvil here/spoiler alter!!!)
'The Bride Wore Braids' and it was quite progressive for a Jr. High library at that time. Even in California!

Aww, I love this story! That's sad that Buffy blamed herself for her mom's death - I'm glad Spike's so sweet and he's there to comfort her. Anyway, can't wait to read more! :)

Okay, uhm, thank you for liking the story. However, Joyce is Buffy's stepmom in this one, not her biological mom. But, I do see what you mean about Joyce sometimes, in BTVS. She was a bit preachy at times.
Did you ever see the movie? Buffy's mom in the movie was a real dynamo and wild cat. She was a riot.

i think it's wonderful that you use stuff from your own quality time with you family, it gives the story the ability for it's readers to see that there is that kind of fairy tale "Princess tames a rebel" kind of love. Yay, Angel break up! When reading I thought why did Cordy wanted to know where Buffy did indent to go... but we did find out. Buffy can be glad that Cordy did this - even because of the wrong reasons. This Angel doesn't deserve Buffy ;-) But there's Spike, right? :))
