PERFECT! The 76 trombones was a nice touch. I was all ooo and ahhh and yeeeee as I was reading the chapter, and then I got to the last few lines where he said there were 76 trombones, and I think that is just perfect. Just like he said in OMWF ... "The say you suss out what you want there'll be a parade, 76 bloody trombones and all." (paraphrase, as I don't have the exact quote, but that is close). I have followed this story from the first moment I found it early on, and read every update as they came. I will be eagerly awaiting to see the sequel. I've got the title written down, and you can bet I'll be right there through the whole next one too. Thank you for a wonderful piece of work.

Awe, I loved the ending - but I'm glad about the sequel. During reading it, I wasn't always sure what Dru did plan - but I loved reading it. Love the two candles (flames) too. :)

I always loved that moment in *Chosen* when Buffy and Spike's hands burst into flames. I really like the beautiful way you made that moment pay off in your story. Nice touch!

great chapter, also liked the sad part, a question: why would spike mourn drusilla, since she was the hellhag who caused buffy so much damage. Yeah, i know the whole sire bussniss, but even in season 5 of buffy was he already willing to kill her for buffy. Now there's so much love between them(spike and buffy) so why would he be sorry, that bitch never treated him right. While i love seeing angel beat up, drusilla also had her come upns, hope she burns in hell. keep up the great work seeya

Poor Spike I hate to see him suffer. I know Dru was his love for so long but personally i'm glad she's dust. I'm on the edge of my seat here! I can't wait to find out what Joyce is up to. Great chapter!

Uh oh ... SPike plotting revenge on Angelus ... not good. I'm still wondering if Dru and Holland really got his true soul out of him like Dru wanted ... at least that is what I'm still assuming she wanted. I sooooo look forward to the next update. I loved Dawn beating and trying to get at Angel any way she could.

Author's Response: That is what Dru wanted. Spike has been through a triple whamy, so he may not be himself, soul or not, for a while. As far as revenge goes: ANGELUS: No weapons. No friends. No hope. What's left? BUFFY: Me. Enjoy:-)

Wow that chapter was dramatic! You've got me really curious as to how Spike's backstory is gonna fit into your sequel. I hope Buffy is gonna be okay. Great chapter! I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Oh my - so it happened: Spike did loose the soul, trading it for the safety of Buffy. I hope too that Angel won't lie now - like Tasha said. Poor Spike - William is lost now. But I believe that Spike doesn't need a soul to be good. Angel need it not to become Angelus. So who's the better man (vamp) now?

Author's Response: I always thought that giving Spike a soul was just ME's way of covering their six. I don't think Spike ever really needed it to be good. But ME wrote themselves into a corner with all the emphasis placed on it. So Spike had to have one or they couldn't explain why Angel needed it to be good.

I don't trust Angel. Was he saving Buffy's life? Or was he trying to stop Spike from taking his so called destiny? I hope Angel gets his just desserts next. Update soon please!

She sooooo better not believe that Angel was the one that truly saved her. Spike gave up his soul for Buffy just as he fought to earn it for her. If Angel tries to take that glory from Spike ... I swear ... I'll stake him myself. {Growls} I look forward to the next update. This was an excellent one. I'm eager to see what happens when Buffy really awakens and what she is told.

Author's Response: You know Angel, he might try...but if you think a Spuffy girl like me would let that glory hound take away Spike's glimmer... don't worry Angel will be smacked but hard. ;-)
