Ouch, bitchy Buffy strikes back! She has every right to be mad at him, though. Stupid Spike

Something I forgot to add...

I don't really think she deserves Spike. Because Spike loves her completely and will love her forever...while Buffy doesen't know what she feels for him and is still pining for the man whose admitted he never loved her and left her for another women within their first meeting of each other.

Spike has done nothing but be supportive of her and their daughter and in these last few chappies...making her as happy as he can, and he makes one mistake and she's ready to go back to square one and blame all her heartache on him...he didn't do this to her...and I hope she realizes that soon.

Don't know why she can't talk to Spike and at least hear him out, oh but she could with Angel. Buffy really needs to get her head cheked for that one.

I understand Buffy being hurt by what Spike kept for her. I do not understand her overreaction. She treated Spike horribly here. She's blaming him and not Angel and Fred. She can't have an adult conversation with Spike and work everything out. She doesn't even know everything and she's back to being a bitch to Spike. To think this bitchy, emotional woman is a mother is just sad. So tired of her "woe is me" attitude. Don't really care for this Buffy and leaning toward Spike finding someone sane.

So Buffy would have preferred Spike to have called Angel and Buffy and tell them he was not coming because Fred just admitted that she was the love of Angel's life and he didn't want Fred to break up their marriage just yet? How would that have made Buffy any happier? She still would have blamed Spike somehow for her bad marriage. Really don't know why Spike would want to put up with her. She hasn't been nice to Spike and would prefer to be with a husband who doesn't love her or treat their child nicely? Buffy needs therapy.

For some reason, Buffy can not or won't put the blame on who really tore her family apart, which was Angel. Not even Fred really because Angel made a conscious decision to leave the wife and child behind to run off with Fred. I'm all for true love and all that, but he is truly the one to blame. And Buffy rarely does, sure she's angry and hurt at him, but she mostly directs the blame to Fred and now Spike.

Spike was wrong for not telling Buffy about Fred at least after everything went down and I can understand why she would be hurt and angry. But to blame him for tearing her family apart is ludacris and un-called for. I don't particulary care for this Buffy because she has done nothing but shit on Spike their whole lives...and he puts up with it for whatever reason. What I would like to see is her thinking about what has occured and about Spike rationally, and maybe hearing him out, cause any course of action she takes without hearing him out turns her into a selfish bitch. With everything she's gone though she has a right to be angry, but she needs to put that anger where it belongs. And it is most certainly not on Spike.

I would think Buffy would be happy. She loves to put blame where it doesn't belong anyway - now she can yell at Spike, treat him badly, etc. just like she did for most of their relationship and feel good about herself because she can pretend it is justified now.

Get a grip Buffy. You can't be upset about Spike's deception when yours was worse and for a longer period of time. It's not Spike's fault Angel never loved her and left with Fred. It would have happened anyway. You're mad because Spike didn't come clean earlier when you were being a bitch to him? When you finally decided to be nice to him, he didn't want to risk it by telling you. Can't blame him. You're not exactly stable.

Let's face it: Men are fucking assholes the majority of the time who would lie when the truth would do, just to keep in practice.
There, I said it.

Okay, I'm over my man bashing for now.

This chapter was so heart-wrenching and I'm beginning to wonder if Buffy should forgive; love anyone, except Lindsey.

Overreact much? I can't believe Buffy actually said that Spike is the one who betrayed her and that Spike tore her family apart? What about Angel and Fred? He's stabbing her in the back when he makes love to her? I haven't liked this Buffy very much so far and now I dislike her even more. She's been lying to Spike and treating him badly for years. She gets to decide when she stops doing that and then decides that Spike needs to come clean immediately with everything the same minute she does otherwise she hates him? What an immature insensitive child. Really don't see what Spike sees in her. Not saying Spike is perfect but Buffy is a control freak with issues.

i think buffy is being a major bitch. it's not even that big of a deal, i'm sure angel would have left anyway. blaming spike is only going go make things worse. she needs to just get over it already.

Spike's duplicity had to be revealed, but Buffy's betrayal was heart wrenching. How is he ever going to earn her forgiveness? Lindsey hs gotten used to having Spike in her life, she'd be devastated if Buffy banned him from seeing his daughter. The angst will make a resolution even sweeter.

See...I knew it was gonna bite him in the tail...damn...I love it..the angst...I wonder how long, if , she will ever forgive him? He needs to give her some space...if he can do that...we all know how persistant Spike can be.

First things first, I really like your writing.
Second: Ouch. What a mess.
What's the saying? The path to hell is paved with good intentions... Though, I'm not sure how "good" his intentions really were, because selfishness does not exactly qualify as such. I understand his motives, but in the end it all comes down to the fact that he should have told her. He denied her any chance to be in control of the situation. It should have been her decision whether she wanted to try and stop her husband who was leaving her for another woman and who never loved her or to make a clean break and move on. But fearing that she might make the "wrong" decision he decided to not let her decide at all. I get that he was afraid. I also get that he chose the way which was convenient for himself in that situation. Head start combined with superior knowlegde. Very nice.
As for Buffy's reaction, I understand that she feels betrayed. He played the sympathetic friend and the co-victim who had also been left. He made her feel guilty because she lied about the identity of her daughter's father. And at the very same time he was building their whole new relationship on a lie. A pretty fat lie. And honestly, the phrase "but we were happy" would definitely cause me to throw pieces of cuttlery. She was happy. But her happyness was to a certain extend based on false information. I would be furious, if other people manipulated my life.
It will be interesting to see, how you get them out of this situation.

Oooh and just a little afterthought...I know Spike's never been the 'man with a plan' or at least not a plan that works (seasons 2 and 4 prove it beyond reasonable doubt) but I mean really - keeping the letter AND putting it in the kitchen breadbox for safekeeping? Methinks he subconciously wanted Buffy to discover what he knew in order to get the truth out there as he'd dug himself into a hole he couldn't get out of! Like I said - just a thought.

Hi Ass, meet my friend Bite. LOL!

Okay so we knew this had to happen (though many candles were lit I'm sure to try and avoid the inevitable). The question I've got to ask, though I hate myself for doing so, is where do they go from here? I earlier suggested that Buffy could be forgiven for going 'off the handle' for a little in reaction to discovering Spike's duplicity and I stand by that. What I hope however is that afterwards, when the emotional processing isn't quite so raw anymore, she'll be able to weigh up what she's lost - a husband who stated he 'never truly loved' her, who wasn't much of a father to her child (by another man I might add), and who broke his vows of fidelity (before Buffy I remind you) - against what she's gained. It's an ugly, unfortunate and convoluted path they walked admittedly but Buffy and Lindsey really seemed as if they had reached a good place with Spike before the proverbial hit the fan. So here's to hoping that Buffy can remember that before too much more is said and irreparable damage is done *crosses fingers - thinks about it a little more - crosses toes, legs and eyes for good measure*

God! That was one of the most painful chapters I have ever read. My heart just broke into pieces. Poor William! Such a good yet bad decision on his part. I could understand why Buffy is so upset, but I still wish that she could have had a more understanding reaction. Just so painful! Please update soon.

Well, that was a nice, light chapter until Buffy spied the letter. Buffy was already holding back, waiting for the other shoe to drop. How many shoes did Fred let loose in that letter? I'm looking forward to reading Buffy's reaction and Spike's response.

That chapter started so cute - describing how they grew stronger together as a family.. and there at the end was the evil thing - a cliffhanger! Yep - found it. So - Fred wrote a letter? Oh my.. truth to come out? Looking forward to read on.
