Stories like this just make me wonder why the author writes Spuffy. You clearly don't give a crap about Buffy. You don't even attempt to get into her head and this couldn't sound less like the Buffy we saw on the show. Yeah, Buffy was all about wanting to watch Spike writhe around in chip pain. Also? Maybe remember that Joyce was horrified when she realized Spike was in love with Buffy. It wasn't all "Oh, poor vampire, Buffy how can you be so mean!"
I really enjoyed your first fanfic which is why I think I found this so disappointing. I don't recognize either of these characters. Where's the Spike who hides behind the smartass facade? Where's the Buffy who continues to trust and depend on him even when there is no logical reason why she possibly should? This weepy manpire and this calculating bitch aren't why I started shipping this pairing.

I hope this was your first story. Not trying to be mean but the dialogue was horrible. The jumps in emotion made no sense for this time frame in the series. It seems more like Buffy is schizophrenic than a woman in love. The entire thing was off.

It's not very often that I read a story that speaks to me so much. I just ended a long-term relationship with some similar issues. Reading this story, I felt so many of those feelings again. Thank you for heart-felt emotion. I truly enjoyed it. I would also love to see them get a happy ending since I know my story doesn't have one. My life will be better for the choices I've made, but that doesn't mean it hurts any less.
Please let me know if you're willing to give them that happy ending or at least the chance at one...

So bittersweet and sad, but......
I think of Buffy like Scarlette O'Hara and Spike as Rhette Butler: He will definitely be back in the picture by the end and they will be together.
Rhette was the 'man' for Scarlette, she just had to find it out the hard way and she did, but she always went on, just like Buffy. Tough but beautiful!
Anyway, I think Buffy should go after Spike if you do a sequel (not that I think he should fight her LOL!).
