Such a lovely description of that coat. As much as it could be considered a part of Spike, it really is a character in and of itself. Would love to see a companion piece of Spikes view on leaving the coat... Maybe even the man in the distance watching her, protected by the coat. Maybe a bit still by him. Something so very open ended... And you know it's never the end with them. :) Thanks for sharing!
