This chapter was fabulous!! I loved, loved, loved the part where you talked about Buffy thinking Angel was the real thing & how she came to realize it was Spike. I've said it before, but I love the angst of the B/S relationship and this chapter shows how much you loved it too. Hearts & flower relationships are usually based on fantasy,and reality usually crashes in on them. My boyfriend drives me crazy, but i love him to death which is why i put up with all the stuff that drives me crazy!!!! Noone is perfect so everyone needs someone who will love the flaws as much as the good stuff. Great job!!!!

You have a right to be proud of this fic, as this chapter demonstrates. Your prose has a lyrical quality I find irresistable. And, your explanation of the path of Buffy's love makes absolute sense. I'm late in reading too - so it's good for me that the chapters did come slowly. When I read at the begin of the fight, I thought that Lotta would join it and dye battling the demons. But that didn't happen. So she's pure demon now - wonder how she'll react towards Buffy now. (She won't hurt her Sire, though.). I don't think they'll get a Rashmack crystal so quick - now Lotta could be dangerous. Well, we'll see.

I agree with you 100% about S6 - I loved the angst of it all. The push and pull of their relationship was so intense and the love/hate was mesmerizing. So much better to me than hearts and flowers. Of course, I like to thtink that they would have gotten there eventually - much like yu story with them learning from their past mistakes to make the relationship even stronger. You could see glimpses of it in S7, but not enough. You're doing a great job with it though - llike I said in an earlier review I love mature introspective Buffy.

I knew she'd want to die...if she kept her soul and hadn't gone insane it would be different...but because she hasn't I don't see what choice they have...and if Angel shows up I know he will do it without hesitation or Xander for that matter so someone who cares for her better do it before someone who doesn't does...hope that makes sense...

Smoldering, mindless passion - poor Buffy and Spike. I like the way you handled his rage at Willow and Buffy's acknowledgement of her own anger at the witch, while also recognizing that her mission is to protect even those who don't deserve it. I like the way you brought Buffy around to finally understanding Spike's thinking when she beat him in the alley. It works so well here because in some ways, the fight and catharsis is one of the few things that is uniquely Buffy's to give. I continue to love this story and as always, look forward to more!
