Loving hte internal struggle that Buffy is having over going with what is safe versus what would be great, but might lead to pain....and someone stop the line "path to the darkside" from echoing in my head. :) Can't wait to read what is going to happen on Riley and Buffy's "date."

Great kissing scene! Your imagery coupled with Buffy's bodily response to it really made it incredibly intense. No wonder Buffy freaked. I'm still very, very curious as to what specifically happened to her first love, but I can be patient... for now. Wonderful angst in the end of the chapter. Spike's frustration just screamed off the page. I can't blame him for being fed up. It looks like now Buffy is going to start something safe with Riley, just so she won't be hurt by being with Spike. Oh joy. Spike's going to love that (sarcasm). I can' t wait to see how far Buffy emotionally distances herself. Wonderful chapter!
