Sorry, RIley is so dead. Still think he'd be rolling in his grave if he knew the baby was somehow mystically connected to Spike. When reading so many stories, set in so many different times and worlds, sometimes the plot points all get muddled. Really enjoying this one and also looking forward for Spike finding out.

What's the point in the monks chosing Spike as father because he's stronger than the others if Buffy never tells?
Author's Response: The monks chose Spike because he was the strongest and they knew he would protect the key. Buffy is the one that decided not to tell him about the baby. Only because she doesn't trust him to be in the role of father. She does, however, trust him enough to help fight.

I've done the baby book thing. I'm not exactly sure you should get all that deep on the first entry. Then again, my baby wasn't a mystical key and the father wasn't a vampire. And I wasn't an unwed mother, or he slayer. O.K. I guess there isn't much light in this situation. Nevermind.

You're breaking my heart, girl. This chapter was so lovely and emotional. The Spike-Buffy banter brought a big smile to my face though. :) And I love the baby kicking scenes...yeah, more connecting. I'm glad Buffy isn't lying to her child. But I can't wait until she is proven wrong. I just hope she accepts it. ;)

That was really wonderful. Poor Spike, poor Buffy, poor Joyce. I wonder how Riley will react. Just really makes you wonder how they will be able to defeat Glory. Looking forward to the next update.
