What kind of cowardly cur beats near to death a creature that can't defend itself. I can't wait to read Buffy's retaliation on Riley (or even better, Joyce's!). The connection between B&S is wonderful and I love how it's progressing almost as if Nature or TPB are mating them! I STILL LOVE THIS TALE and can't wait for the next installment. Oh I love it, I love it and want some more of it. Another great one, but answer me this, why do so many writers make Spike purr, granted its damned sexy, but a bit over played and I don't recall him ever doing it on the show, heard him growl, but not purr. I was just wondering about that :) Anyway, keep writing.
Author's Response: LOL- well, I can't answer for other writers, but it was originally something I wanted to use when Buffy couldn't hear anything- it would soothe her so that she could feel comforted, but she wouldn't be able to hear him. As my ideas developed I, obviously, wanted her to be able to hear Spike, but I decided not to drop that idea. I think it's the first time I've ever used it (although it's been a while since I posted Remember When, so I might have put it in there, but I don't think so). I don't know why it's so appealing- the only thing I can think of is (like you said) it's damned sexy LOL! Thanks for reviewing, as always!

Oh wow!!! I love your story, and I find myself waiting in anticipation for each chapter. This one's wonderful and I hope that Buffy kicks Riley's worthless ass for beating up Spike. I LOVE that Spike has so much more control than Angel when it comes to this. Even if it only is in fanfic, you know that's the way it would have been on the series. Spike just always had more control than Angel, in everything. Great chapter. So, is Buffy going to kick Riley's ass now?
