Waited until I finished the whole story. "With This Ring" was a fresh and inventive andfascinating way to continue S 4 canon. The voices of Buffy and Spike were perfect. Buffy --"I’m the Slayer, you’re a vampire. How can we love each other? It’s all magic. Smoke and mirrors" -- she so needs normality. Spike loves Buffy enough to follow her back from a loving marriage into a life of denial. The variation of characters from one world to another was ingenious. Anya -a powerful vengeance demon to an abused girlfriend-so unexpected. The end was painful but....[I am hopeful.

That she will be. A love for the ages, theirs. They really didn't have much choice but to go back. A lovely story with such lingering possibilities for a sequel. Seem so remember reading that there was such a thing. Great news to check out tomorrow. Loved it.

Funny that after that whole big struggle, the big oaf pretty much staked himself. Love how big smart Harmony is still oblivious and shallow as ever. Quite refreshing. And interesting that Spike and Angel weren't family here. Great chapter.

Well, I suppose that was the other great love connection of our Xanders life. And Parker, amazing what a prick he can be. Glad to see he's getting his ass beat by our good friend the vampire. So, the chip doesn't go off in this Sunnydale then? Still'd be worth it to pound parker into the ground. Great chapter.

"If he reached his tongue out and licked her clit one more time, she would surely die. And if he didn’t, she would kill him!" Brilliant bit of imagery. And I love how they fall back into their old rythms so quickly. It's good to know that that simmering passion is what keeps her from letting go with Riley. And that little bit you slid in there at the end about the other bar maid named Anya... wonder if she's a vengence demon here. Great chapter.

Love that little side effect of the portal, reversing Willow's third spell... and we all know how well the memory erasing goes. And that odd little inkling that found and kept the wedding certificate, not to mention the part of her that didn't wash those jeans. As Spike said, always ment to be. Lovely chapter.

‘Why is the boy lurking behind that tree, pretending he can’t be seen? Is it some sort of game?’--That is a great line. And reminds me of my cats, when they stick their front end under a chair and assume that you couldn't possibly find them... a bit off track I suppose, but a wonderful chapter, and now I must find out what happened to our happy couple.

I really enjoyed reading this story, well... everything except the ending actually. I hope you'll write a sequel because the story certainly deserves one. Stories shouldn't end badly *pouts* Great work anyway, it was a very good read.

Hi - thanks for the update, posting the end. But I can't say I like the way it ended. I would have loved if Buffy stayed together with Spike. Maybe she had seen then that it wasn't only magic. I hope you'll make a sequel once.
It's your story and your decision to write what you want - but I can decide if I loved it or not. I loved reading the story - I just don't like the way it ended. I don't like stories that end sad. *pout*

I loved Spike's line "Won't sounds more truthful." Trust Buffy to choose normal, sigh. It was a fun, albeit painful journey. Thanks for the good read.
