the flashbacks in places reminded me of scenes from the movie "My Girl" like the part where she pushes him and tells him not to come back for 5 to 8 days and the make up stuff. Probably completely unrelated but that's what those scenes made me think of. Anyway, great start, looks like it will be another fab fic.
