Wowie! What a chapter! It's always sad and hard to see Spike go down that road. It esp was hard to watch it on the show. Poor guy! You are still an awesome author and I trust you will do wonders with this plot. I am glad you posted this chapter. Not all stories have to make Spike some wonderful "bad" good guy... cos he screwed up on the show, so why not in stories. Anyway, you did a wonderful job with this chapter. =D

To tell you the truth after the warning I was a bit afraid to read these chapters, but decided to give it a try and as always you didn't disappoint. I love the strength and maturity Buffy's showing in this fic and that she realizes that Spike needs to get better for himself, otherwise it would never work. I liked that Spike even under the influence sobered enough to realize what he had done to Buffy and that she had called him Spike and not Will. Can't wait for more, Ashlee.

Bless you for posting this dark chapter series tonight. I was hoping you would. I can only say this...the world of rock is a jaded one. As far as loving Spike, or any character from a show, of course, we do. But, when writing the characters (male or female) as rock singers, etc. it's difficult not to include this kind of behavior. I figured out a long time ago, rock singers get up in Houston on Wednesday at 2 in the afternoon and make it to a gig inAtlanta by 8 on Thursday night. It's inevitable for them to 'pep up' and use things to get by. Not condoning it, just understand it. Wonderful chapter and thank you for keeping it short and sweet (?) or short and angstsy, I guess? Yup........that got pretty dark. But it wasn't too bad though. I was nervous that he was gonna rape her all the way. I'm really glad that you didn't let it go that far. It made the chapter as easy a read as a topic like that can get. Great job! :)

difficult to imagine at times, cause spike is so awww. but again i have a deep appreciation of the realism you bring to the stories by trying different angles and stuff, and since you're stories tend to end happily im gonna stick with it and keep reading. I don't know anything about you, so you could be writing from experience, but if you need any help on the facts of trying to kick the habit, you can email me. My ex boyfriend acted very much like spike in this chapter(being a drug addict), well less with the physical psychoness, but if you needed any "research' or whatever. You seem to know you're stuff however, sorry that im rambling, but i sensed you were sort of nervous about this chapter and i think it's great. take care

So Buffy still doesn't trust him. .. But she needs to if she'll love him. I hope she can do that... I'm reading on, hope it won't get too dark for me.

No!! I don't want this story to take a darkr turn! What about light fluffy Spuffy fics, lol! ; ) I'm really glad that this isn't gonna turn into a B/A (yuck!) fic! I think that Angel's almost as good as Xander to be a friend to both Buffy and Spike, although I don't believe that you'd be bad at writing Xander! ; ) I'm guessing that this darker turn will involve Spike and drugs... please don't make Spike try to or actually rape Buffy or anything like that (just a hope, although if you must, I'll understand). I'm still willing to read this even with the darker turn, which hopefully won't be too dark! ; ) Thanks for the warning though! Keep it up - I can hardly wait for more (dark or not)! This whole chapter (it was very good) seemed to be leading to something.... "of the bad". And now with your author's note, I guess my hunch was right. But I gotta ask... How dark are we talking here??

Thanks for the warning and for cushioning the ugly to come with some sweet spuffiness first. I'm still cheering for a happy ending (but know you have to go though tons when drugs are concerned to get there) so even though I hate the angst - I'll suffer though it to get to that hoped for happily every after (or at least lustily ever after).
