A painful, pretty thing, with a plot that doesn't (for once) let you know what it's all about until the final scene. Good Spike and Buffy, too. Not a word too long, either. Ended just where it should, bittersweet with a real nice dollop of the bitter.

On the basis of this, Like Mice in a Cornfield, and the characterization/plottng of Destiny and Dust, I hope you'll write a lot more.

This was a really cool little story. I enjoyed it a lot. Kinda left you a little unsettled but in a good way. Good job!

Is it supposed to fit with the actual story? 'Cause it does. Really freakin well. As Buffy was jumping she made the deal, and Brielle said that Buffy would see Spike again, and when Buffy said 'when?' the very first thing I thought was 'In 147 days'. Either way, damn excellent story! Great job!

please tell me there is a sequel to this. i feel really really bad for buffy and spike that was so sad but really beatuitfully written. i hope buffy gets to see spike again.

I hope she sees him again...how depressing is that?! First Spike gets staked, which is bad enough, and then then fairy gives Buffy an ultimatum- never good! This story isn't actually done, right? Because I want to see more!:)

Wow- intriguing first chapter! I really liked the dream in the beginning, and then the fight scene with 'Curly, Moe, and Larry' (that was cute!), and then this last part really makes me wonder what's going on. I loved this!:)
