Yep, I got what you were trying to hit at with the Harmony scene. Disturbing, but it was a nice way to show Buffy what her future would be if she doesn't start fighting. I think she got it ;) Actually, she'd be really dumb not to get it. I guess I'll see in the next chapters.

Another powerful chapter... We can see Spike coming around in the beginning (the "gap" after sex that he can't explain). And he's mindful of her bruises.... And I'm still enjoying the flashbacks. They really help us to identify with Buffy. I can't wait to see what happened back then. And the Harmony rape was disturbing, especially since Spike knew it would happen. Should be interesting to see if he feels guilt for that later on. And Buffy's reaction to seeing the rape, and relief at seeing Spike. I wonder if Spike will bring it up to Buffy later, or if he will ever learn anything about Buffy's past that may change how he sees/treats her...

Pretty disturbing (well duh) scene with Harmony, but anyways... I don’t know why, but I just like Cordelia (no, I’m not mental… probably not...) in this story… not cuz she’s nice or anything, I don’t know… Loved the chapter!! I've only recently discovered this site and this is one of the first stories to attract my attention...i read ch 1- 8 back to back and i thought they were great...the story is very different and i'm always attacted to Bad Spike stories and this one doesn't disapoint...keep going and please...please try to hurry with the updates...

Loving this story more and more. It's so dark and angsty and hot al at the same time. And being one of the few people here that actually like Harmony, that scene was really hard to read, but I get that it's part of both Spike and Buffy's character development. Eagerly awaiting the next chapter. =)

Author's Response: lol, I don't think I do...I seriously stopped myself from writing any further in that scene because I actually cringed. I think the situation itself was just disturbing enough, so I let the tragic-ness of it do the work. I don't know how it was timed or pitched right, but that's an awesome compliment! lol. omg i cant believe that happened its so sad wat they did to harmony and that no one would help her, i know its part of the story and that it had to be done but its still really sad. also i hate that spike keeps using her thats not going to win her trust or love or even her liking him. i love this story and am so happy that u updated i really hope that buffy learns to fight and that she really gets good at it so she wont be hurt. please update as soon as u can, i cant wait to read more and find out wat happens next thanx

Wow, good update. It's pretty obvious that Spike's in denial about his feelings. Well, it is understandable since he can't be all soft. Poor Harmony, though. I hated her at the show but no one really deserves to be gang raped. I hope Buffy would be able to defend herself before things like that happen to her. Or maybe have Spike at least to save her. lol. That's just wishful thinking on my part. Anyway, loved the update. Great job.

I can see why you had a hard time, I've always thought Harmony kinda slutty, but that was harsh and I wonder how Spike feels about the knowledge of what happened after seeing how it affected Buffy, and how will it affect their building/altering relationship. Buffy feeling relief at seeing Spike was telling. I really love how you are building all these people, little nuances that are giving them such depth for a bunch of "thugs". Faith's little hint that learning to defend yourself around here is paramount! (here I go again - I ramble). Ok - done now - GREAT UPDATE, LOVE IT, more please.
Author's Response: lol, as I said, ramble away, it's fun to read! It was harsh, but I felt it was necessary, because I think if this were reality, Buffy would've been the one in Harm's situation, but I just couldn't do that. This way, it hints so many diff things ;) Thanks for reviewing!

As unfortunate as it was, I can see the purpose Harmony's rape had in this chapter. Your story is very well written even if it touches upon some very disturbing issues. Even though we like to think we live in a civilized world, we don't. It's not all pennywhistles and moonbeams ppl! I'm a fan of dark fics and this one's pretty dark. I can't wait to learn more about Buffy's past. Is her finding that brochure the reason she ran away? I hope Spike soon realizes that Buffy's more to him than just a good fuck. I wonder how he's going to make it up to her when he finally realizes it. Plz update soon. I'm dying to see how this Spuffy relationship will progress.

(Your fic is on my list of to-read, mostly because I was told that it has a vaguely similar plot where Spike holds Buffy hostage, and I wanted to finish this fic before I read yours so that I don't go concocting story ideas that come from yours, lol! As for who is pimping your fic to me, I point to my co-owners at FFL awards, hehe.) Ok, onto the real response, thanks for the compliment! And I agree that it's disturbing but often true. About Spike's redemption - it won't come til a lot later, because right now I'm merely making excuses by pointing out the reality of the situation and the lack of options both Buffy and Spike have. Author's Response: I haven't decided, lol! I was playing with some ideas, but haven't drafted the full agenda outline for this fic in an anal fashion as I have for the other fic. I know what's happening to Spike and Buffy, but besides that, it's all tentative until I get some time to plot it out. :D

Well, I suppose I'm cool with that alternative to what was going to happen with Harmony. I'm glad you didn't kill her, though, but we went over this last night LOL I give you a lot of credit for writing the gang-rape scene because I don't think I could've been able to stomach it if it was me writing it. And interesting sex scene to start the chapter- who doesn't like sex to start things off? :)
Author's Response: Omg, you should've seen me, Alli - I started writing and I actually got that disturbed feeling and had to stop putting in details. Even when I wrote the first rape scene, It didn't phase me because they're my own words, but this time I felt so bad for Harmony, lol. Haha, I thought you might appreciate the Spuffy scene though ;)

I just caught up with this story, and it is truly incredible! Shocking and dark sure, but amazingly written! I'm just sorry it took me so long to get around to reading it! Now for the review on this chapter.... Normally I don't like Harmony, but I felt so sorry for her!! Poor girl! But also, this looks like exactly what Buffy needed to get her ass in gear and learn her training. Also looking forward to se whatever became of the _____(fill in with many expletives) parker! He better not have gotten away with that! Anyway, I'll quite rabling on and just say, that you are a fantastic writer and this is an amazing story! Keep up the great work!! =D
