Author's Response: I don't hate you, I'm a stupid hormonal teen who writes stuff and then regrets it later....I'm sorry. I of course already told you that, but really, I am sorry. I love you very much and you're more of a dad than stupid Ill. Dad ever was, and you haven't lost a child. I'm very, very sorry I ever wrote that.

Okay, you just have to transmit the story straight from your brain into my head now because I absolutely cannot wait for you to type and update this story! I am really liking this one a lot - I always like your stories, you have a gift for the whole human AU thing that is just wonderful and just as difficult to find. Coming from a stupid family like Buffy does in this story made me really empathize with her plight. And the part where Hank starts calling her names and she is just so shocked, that was well done. I remember the very second I realized the depth of my family's utter contempt and lack of care for me hit me like a ton of bricks. Prior to that it was just a sad background noise, but you can convince yourself that it isn't quite as bad as it seems for years. But then someone will say something or do something so awful, so completely out of sync with normal family or parental care, and it is just like a sledgehammer. The lie you comforted yourself with all along, the hope that perhaps you were overreacting sometimes or they didn't really mean it all is just ripped away and you are left just as Buffy was - devastated. After that comes the eerie calm of knowing you are cut off from them, that they can't hurt you any more because they have revealed their true selves and you have no further expectations. That's if it plays out all the way. Whatever you do next with Buffy is your story to tell, and I can't wait to see where you go from here. But I wanted to tell you that the whole scene struck me so true that it gave me the wiggins. So to speak. :-) Thanks for sharing this one with us. And really, if the brain transmission thing can be managed, I'm right here. :-)
Author's Response: WOW =D Are you sure you don't want to write it? Cuz honestly, you're expressing what I'm trying to say better than I am, lol. Thanks so much for all the wonderful praise, it made me incredibly happy and I enjoyed every word of it, especially since long reviews are usually ones telling me that I suck. I've never quite had that experience with my family, but my mom's incredibly disapproving of pretty much everything I do--such as writing Spuffy. Thanks for saying the scene struck you true, because that's what I'm aiming for, is to really affect you guys and make you feel something other than tired eyes from the words on the screen. Hearing that I managed that is like hearing that Bill Gates wants to give me a billion dollars--indescribably awesome! And the whole brain transmission thing--I'll work on it =D

I did like the little 'almost caught' scene though!

Very nice chapter. I feel bad for Buffy, because even if we try to deny it, the opinions of our parents mean so much to us.

Okay, first ill say this chap was amazing. It was very intense although in two very different ways (happy and sad). Secondly i find it great that Dawn is seemingly making an effort. I hope Hank dies and Joyce smartens up lol. You could have Hank run over by a mob of transvestites or something, i think it would be fitting somehow lol. Great update i cant wait for more

Oh my god, that's so horrible. I feel so bad for Buffy right now. It is so wrong of her father to act like that when she was only kissing. He reminds me of my father and that just makes me hate him even more. I hope Buffy will be okay and that she would still want to try things with Spike. Maybe he could help her. Both of their families suck. Hope you have more soon!
Author's Response: My dad too, that's one of the reasons I wrote Hank like I did. I have this thing about absentee/complete and utter asshole fathers: I HATE THEM. Buffy'll be fine and there will definitely be "trying", lol. Thanks for reviewing!

Her dad is soooo mean. Oh my god! That whole passage where he's calling her a slut just totally freaked me out it was so sad. I hope Dawn is nice to her from now on. Her parents adore Dawn so maybe if Dawn stands up for her they won't ground her for life.
