Author's Response: Thanks. I can tell you that my cousin is the foster mother who adopted four of her foster kids, officially. She did name alot of her foster children, legally and did start with A of the alphabet. Her last adopted child was named Zoe. The other woman that Buffy's character is based was also real. I do not recall her name, however I read about her in I believe it was an LA based magazine, some years ago. She was an elderly African-American woman and a widow. She had no family living nearby if I remember right and could dedicate her time to the babies in the nursery. Although I don't recall her name, I can envision her beautiful face even now. Author's Response: I get you, about the tired thing. I always like it when Tara and Spike were friends. As for the 'other nursery' I had the sad opportunity to stumble onto the one in my hospital when I had my youngest daughter. It was an experience I will never forget, believe me. However, it was a couple of years later that I read about this amazing elderly woman (in a huge LA hospital) who volunteered there, doing what Buffy does in this fiction. She was a widow, I believe about 80 something who apparently had no family left. She would go to the hospital and hold and love the babies in this special ward. I have never forgotten that article I read and I just had to write a character into one of my fictions that did this woman justice. The part about the alphabet naming is true also. My cousin, a remarkable woman, has been a foster mother for years. It was her that began to name the babies by the alphabet. Boy or girl, my cousin took in the babies (and yes, some of them were going through withdrawels at the time) and she would give them names like Adam, Beth, Catherine, etc. Eventually, she adopted four of the children in her foster care, the last one was a beautiful little girl whom she named 'Zoe'. Thank you for readng this story and I promise it will center mostly on Spuffy. spuf

Author's Response: Thank you. I tend to write what I know or have seen. Buffy's character is based on two real people I know of. Her plot line is secondary, however, since this is mostly from Spike's POV. He's a lost soul himself because he's never really allowed himself to feel like a human should be able to. Everything for Spike, so far, has been mechanical, even though he's a brilliant heart surgeon. All of his magic and special powers as a surgeon cannot save Buffy's special little angels. All of the love Buffy's gives to the babies is very noble, but is she able to love a man and move on with her life? It's not going to be too long, I promise, and there will be more angst, Spuffy, mostly. Thank you, spuf

Well honey its as korny as Kansas but,hey, who cares right? I like the start, lets hope she has a sense of humor and we dont rot our teeth everytime you update. That being said bravo I will keep with this one and see where it takes us:)

Author's Response: I'm cracking up at this review! I love it! Please do keep up with this story. That chapter is about as corny as it's going to get. The Saint Buffy plot is just a background story for the Spuffy. Truthfully, Buffy's character is based on two people I know of, but it's just a way to hook in readers. Buffy will have a sense of humor, but she's still a bit 'out there' about being hurt by Riley. Spike isn't going to be a saint, though, he's going to be aggressive in his courting of Buffy.
