I love the way the relationship between B & S is developing despite their professed 'love' for Angel & Drusilla respectively. Their respect and desire for each other is gradually turning into love despite themselves. Oh, Poor Willow! Sneaky Dru... manipulative as ever.. but it didn't all go quite as she expected did it? Instead of A & S fighting over her they were fighting over Buffy! So glad Spike came to his senses just in time. Now to see how they deal with Angelus & Dru...

Awesome chapter! Totally nail-biting. It makes SO much sense that Drusilla would bring Angelus back, I feel silly for not thinking of that option! I was ready to slap Spike upside the head for being being a bit of a chicken, not making a decision, and running off to Whiskeys but I guess I can't blame him TOO much! He is a vampire, and his life has changed drastically within a weak but Buffy is his mate, his demon made that decision and he just needs to realize that. Plus, seriously, one-side has awesome mind-blowing sex with a tap to slayer blood and the other side has a crazy gal who never loved him and who also poured holy water down his throat.

This story is definitely becoming VERY interesting. Poor Willow, I wanted to hug her, I'd be having nightmares for years! That poor girl with the tongue. Ugh! And I'm glad Giles made an appearance too. Too bad that arrow didn't hit the target. Overall, excellent!

Good chapter, this will probably make their feelings deeper and make way for a real relationship but they still have things to figure out.

Author's Response: Another master vamp can fight this claim. Especially since Angelus is Spike's grandsire, he can despute the claim.

Time that Spike came back to feed Buffy; she was almost attacking Xander.

Spike is still very eager to protect Drusilla even if she may have harmed Willow. Wonder if that would change if Buffy herself would be threatened. May it be by Drusilla or Angel....

Author's Response: Buffy still, for a lack of a better term, is a fledgling. She shows a lot of restraint ie with her mom and in school. Plus Xander can be down right annoying sometimes! Spike is confused between his lover and sire of over hundred years and his new mate.

Really loved your portrayal of characters in this chapter- Angel as his usual annoying self- well done :P Really hope Buffy and Spike realise (maybe after the claim is gotten rid of?) just how much they actually feel for each other. On a side note? The feeding etc. was just plain *hot*.

spike has got to have at least a small part of buffys heart right - i mean shes not really the type to just sleep with a guy without "loving" him is she? and yes I love the direction - buffy thinks she still loves angel as spike believes about drusilla but without a way to break the claim, they all have to deal. and ha poor spike he thinks he has the better deal now but we all saw the disaster that was S6( hated that season). seems reasonable that spike probly will fight buffy if she tries to kill dru but i think his instinct to protect his mate will overpower any feelings he has for dru. i mean she doesnt even love him back. it would be easier on everyone if angel killed dru - bc spike already hates him. i dont think spike would as readily forgive buffy for killing his salvation as some tend to think. cant wait to see how this turns out. i cant believe dru is going to give up her plan with any ease at all. more please more!

Author's Response: He does, but both Buffy and Spike are chalking up this passion to the claim, nothing more. It's not the first time when people have a hard time excepting what is right in front of them! Buffy was a virgin before Halloween so no she's no hoe! She's just confused like Spike between where they think their heart lies and where it is actually. No Dru, even though partially weak, is crazy and a master vamp with visions....a formiable vamp!
