What no scythe? Buffy did not think to take it with her to dole out the payback? TPTB are not helping in any way whatsoever you'd think that the forces of good would at least give Spike the gem of amara to keep him from dusting should Buffy manage to stake him in case that is the end game of snapping her out of her mental trigger. Sad and grim, bites nails and waits for next chapter.

Author's Response: Oh - YES - she took the scythe!! She put it in the bag on top of the stakes .. . . shoooo . ..yes, she has it!! Wow, yea, the Gem of Amarra would've come in handy . . . I hadn't thought of that! But, this way is more dramatic ! The PTB will be cussed at least once - perhaps several times - before this battle with The First is over, trust me!! Author's Response: I went back to double check . . . it's just one line, but, yea, she did take the scythe: "Buffy got dressed quickly, grabbed an overnight bag and quickly stuffed it full of the stakes that Spike had hidden in the bottom of the closet, putting the scythe she’d pulled out of the stone in on top of them. Buffy retrieved a note she’d written a couple of days ago out of a book on her night stand and laid it on her pillow. " For a minute I was afraid I had messed up! Thanks again! -Passion4Spike
