A door creaks open, and a young woman steps in, just far enough to watch the man kneeling beside his daughter’s bed, stroking her soft blonde curls away from her face gently. The little girl smiles brightly around the thumb in her mouth and giggles as her father continues his story. Her big blue eyes light with joy as she listens and laughs in delight, spellbound by her father.
