Holy crap, I should not like this Spike as much as I do. Right now I could give a rats ass about Buffy.
He may be a sick murderer, but he is so ... Alive. Yeah, I think that's the word. Pure entertainment.

Not that I want graphic, I don't so much enjoy that, but in abstract. There is a sense of fun in the slaughter as far as Spike is concerned.
I have been reading this story off and on for a bit now, but I absolutely had to comment on your Spike.
Holy christ do I love him. You captured a level of Snark and balls, and.... Just Spike. His sarcastic remarks, his inner monologue, his growth into what will be the Spike I know and love has not only been the best I have ever come across, but just plain entertaining to read.
I have laughed and smiled uncontrollably, and had more than a few oh shit moments just in the last few chapters alone.
You captured him for me. This is the Spike I am going to want every time I read an "old Spike" story.
Sadistic and bold, completely unapologetic and reveling in it all.

Very, very nice. You could believe Buffy and Xander could get back to being the friends they once were after reading this. There was definitely some healing needed between all the 'Scoobies'.

You didn't make this simple, or unlike the characters at all. Well, maybe Spike, but I'm just guessing that the spell moved him along quite far in His feelings for Buffy.

I had written a review about how this was only the second Randy and Joan fic that I have read and liked, (I don't read many) when I realized the other one I liked was this one.
Really amazing fic here. This was completely in character from Tabula Rasa.
I loved the was the spell brought out peoples real personalities and allowed for a kind of deconstruction of the characters. The actual episode did the same thing, and it was what actually convinced me that Spike could be all the way good soulless. It kinda cemented the man-crush I had going for him. A shake up like this plot outlined could have really refreshed the actual show, which really could have used it at that point no?
Anyway, I really liked the way you handled the character interactions before and after the spell.

PS. If you could lead me to any different J&R fics that would be cool.

It\'s always nice to have that kind of specific feedback. :) I\'m a sucker for Randy/Joan fics, but it\'s been a long time since I\'ve seen any others, and I don\'t remember the titles or authors. I think most of the ones I read a long time ago were on All About Spike. Some of them were quite dark, though, so you may or may not enjoy them all. Probably if you used \"Tabula Rasa\" as a search term on archives that have searches by episode, you could come up with a few more. Sorry I can\'t be more helpful. The Story(Saga?) of Joan and Randy is the only one I can think of, and it is a future fic and quite dark.

Ooooo, I did have the thought that Buffy was dead wherever Alex was from, because of the way she reacted and interacted with Buffy and Spike. What I didn't guess was that Spike was dead also. Or is he... I'm not sure, and it has nothing to do with the story. I just got excited.
Anyway, it was a fleeting thought that was buried by the story that was happening already.
Awesome job, I dug the chapter.
I am a touch confused about this chapter. Not about Alex, I knew that was a strong possibility.
What confuses me is, does Spike know Alex is his or not? He says he knows she is his, but later he says something like: The Slayer named her little girl after me?

Author's Response: Yeah, I\'m working on the typos but I\'m trying to balance that out with uploading as fast as possible to keep people engaged. As for Alex, yes He knows, he\'s figured it out and after his little sister Alexis. I\'m going to go into his backstory a little more in the later chapters.
