All the "I love yous" in the world can't erase each possessive rub of her growing belly, every thought that this family is his. This story is romantic, but the tension of the lie makes me anxious, too. Nice job.

Aww...Very sweet and emotional and uh...is it hot in here. I am so glad they waited until the timing was right. Now i just hope that once Williiam finds out the truth he will be able to see that though Buffy made a huge mistake, it was one she made before they fell in love. I also hope that she is the one who tells him, so he maybe can believe that the lie has been tearing her apart. Beautiful chapter as always!

Oh my god you always leave me with tears in my eyes after each chapter, but good tears :) It's such a sweet story which I probably have told you over and over again but still :)

My mistake. I meant that I fear that Buffy ISN'T going to tell Spike the truth about the baby. That Spike is going to find out some other way someday.

It´s nice to see an update on this story, but I was a bit disappointed that the charade is still going on and the levels of deceit still deepen. This Buffy disgusts me. One thing Whedon´s Buffy never was, was a cheap liar and deceiver to the ones she claims to love. I can´t find a smidgen of sympathy for your protagonist here when it all falls down on her. You don´t love someone if you are able to betray him like this, especially when there is no greater purpose behind it, and it´s just pure egoism and fear. This is wrong on so many levels, I hope it ends soon, it´s kind of hard to read. I always want Spike and Buffy end up together, can´t help it, but this incarnation of Buffy really pisses me off to no end. I hope she grows some morals soon.

Author's Response: Right. Because Whedon's Buffy never lied to her friends... or her sister... or her watcher... or herself. And Morals? Are we conveniently ignoring season 6?

It's fiction, sweet. I'm just telling a story. It doesn't mean I advocate what is written here, and it certainly doesn't mean I don't think she's wrong in doing as she is.

People have deceived and betrayed those they claim to love out of petty jealousy (and I speak from personal experience) why not a lie? I could think a few people that would rather manipulate and deceive someone than to be alone.

I didn't make any promises when I started posting this, nor have I made any since. It's always been up to you to read it or not. I do hope you continue to give me a chance to 'redeem' my character (after all, they though Spike would never be able to after the events in Seeing Red), but if my fic is not for you, then I thank you still, for sticking with me up until this point. :o)
