you know, i really love this story. seeing how spike's character fleshes out and turns from being william to spike is such an interesting trip. i loved seeing the "fun" evil spike start to poke his head out. he makes me giggle.

As for the variant cover, I actually live near Houston, TX and bought both covers of the comic the day they came out. If whedonesque.com is correct, the comics have been selling really well, which might account for you not being able to find the variant cover. Keep your eyes out for a reprint!
