Oh, again, I loved it :) I doubt though that Buffy's jumping could be all that easily prevented, like Xander thought. I understand his desire for such an easy solution, but in reality, Buffy's death was prophesised - by the first Slayer, when she told her that death was her gift. And Buffy did give her heartbeat and blood as a gift to save them all. :) I liked your Xander. and loved Spike/Buffy interaction. And of course the beautiful tale at the end :)

Beautifuly written. The end made me tear up a bit. If she hadn't died that night for any reason and they all survived, you seriously wonder how would those memories of moments of hers continue without the ripped-out-of-heaven- part... And if they would end up together not because he made her 'feel' but because of something that she already felt. Or began to, for that matter.
Seriously, loved reading it. :) But you already know how much I like reading your characterisation of these people :)

It's one of my favorites aswell. I too noticed that pen clicking thing and the cold leather as she put her coat back on and such - people concentrating on such things in those tense and ending situations.
By the time that the hugged, I was teary eyed and just screaming in my head: 'don't you dare let go of him, Buffy! hold on for the dear life!'
but then they parted and I really, really want to know what happened between those two. I mean, only 3 chapters into the story and I already feel so much for the two of them, like I'd have known them for alot more than that.

when there was a word 'snake' i shook just like Buffy always does when she drinks alcohol. in a blllleeeeaaaacccchhhh kind of way :D
and then I even went and typed in on how that snake looks like... and gosh...I'm so not a snake fan! I have actually heard of those saying about the colors though..just forgot about them.
Anyway, enough of my little phobia, The chapter was fun and sad at the same time. Sadness was in there deep and the funny moment was at the surface. Loved it! Especially the part when Buffy threatened Spike with a cookware - I'd do exactly the same in that situation :D
Can't wait to see what that something was that destroyed their marriage and happiness... I won't even start to guess... It had to be painful though..
