As much as it was fun watching Buffy ogling Spike and vise versa, there are still sad undertones here. A once so happy couple ... well I wonder what could happen to hurt their relationship so hard.

But you\'re right, there are the sad undertones that a couple who used to be so in love have lost their way to one another. Another update will be coming soon. And yes...still big time snow here. After five feet in one month, not really seeing it as a wonderland though!

This chapter was true to the series aswell, with all the stalking and time bringing them together... I love the way you use the words. Everything is descriptive enough, felt enough... and the story is interesting, very much so. Love, love, love it...

Angel was not initially a vampire? A shock. a good shock :)
I felt heartbroken by the news of all her friends dead. I felt it most when reading about Dawn. It's easier to bare if you don't get too attached to people before they are dead, so the mentioning about Dawn's sufferings were harder to ignore. good way of writing it too. not too detailed and not too vague -- to leave the imagination going.
Anyway, you brought into your fic the 'side' characters(Gunn, Tara) which I love very much.
I simpathyse with Buffy for killing (or finnish killing) her two best friends (she did kill Xander too that night when she was bleeding, right?).
Gosh and another twist at the very end (btw, loved how Buffy tried to 'create her comfort zone' by surrounding herself by things of Spike's - like she tried to imprint everything she could into her memorioe and senses, fearing she'd loose him too) - the doors of his appartment were open, and oh! Wasn't Tara in there?!
Loved reading it all...seriously, can't wait for the next chapters to come... :)
Author's Response: I thought to replay the Angel losing his soul bit would be needlessly complicated to explain here, and also really anti-sex in the context of my story. In the original series, that twist was perfect, but in this fic, she pays too high a price. As it plays out, you\'ll see where I\'m going with this and hopefully you will like it.

nope.. wasn't an anticlimax...more like the end of a chapter of a certain point in life. Spike is no longer a human, and now that chapter is opened.
Poor Buffy... she gets rid of one lover who made her life a hell, only to discover her love had been turned into the same monster as the previous one. I hope him having sould would put her at ease at least a little bit.
Love Tara's character, always did. she kinda makes things calmer..

I liked the continuation of sentences every time spike 'woke up'.
The dream he had about them had Angel in it as a thing that was still between the two, just like it showed him Dawn, dead Dawn as a bad result of things in Buffy's past. You wrote it beautifully anyway, so no criticism from me here.
Loved the last part of the chapter when Buffy came down there to him with a basin. she could have simply put it on the floor next to him, but the thought haven't even entered her mind, huh?
Poor Spike. He outed some words that were true in a way and they cut deep into her. I hope she won't hurt him. Loved the 'broken toy' part he said. :)

That bit about the basin was sort of taken from real life--I\'ve had moments where I try to convince myself that my actions are necessary, when in reality I just want to do something.
