As much as I love Spike,I for one hate the Buffy bashing... A spuffy ending at this point would seem contrived. Wouldn't it be better to make it Spike/Kat and post it somewhere else, far far from here. Sorry. Plus I am appalled at how so many reviewers seem to enjoy Buffy hurting... and be Spuffy? doesn't make sense.
Author's Response: First, I've already got the entire fic together, so I know exactly how the ending is going. Second, I am as Spuffy loving as anyone else who posts fics on this site, but i'm trying to be realistic. Buffy isn't going to run to Spike if she figures he'll be there forever. Third, Season 6 was all about angst and I'm not doing her worst than Joss and the writers' did her that year. Fourthm it already hwas a sequel, whether many people like it or not and things that happen in this part, and the second will be explained by the end of the second part. Lastly, I appreciate constructive crticism so it doesn't bother me, but where I see my fic going, where it *is* going, is so far from Spike/Kat romance. this is total Spuffy, with the same hardships any couple would face. And as far as my other responses are concerned, I am not just posting here 'cause I want to. I have a site, if it wasn't Spuffy, I wouldn't have bothered.

Author's Response: I know, I know. It's supposed to be part of the plot, which I'm not going to explain cuz that would be giving it away. There will be a Spuffy ending, without Spike having to demean himself.
Summary: NOW COMPLETE!! Buffy and Spike must put aside their differences to find a baby whose sacrifice will bring about an apocalypse (yep--another one). This will be an adventure that will test their mettle and help them learn about each other and--most importantly--about themselves. A Slayer who’s afraid of flying, a vampire who’s afraid of... well, he just won’t say, and a few really colourful characters will hopefully keep you entertained.

I must admit to being very uncomfortable about Buffy's behaviour and I don't think a baby in the picture will improve things any. Quite the contrary! Although she claims to love Spike, like Xander I do not believe her. I almost wish someone else came on the scene as a rival for Spike's affection, maybe then she would really see what she's missing by behaving that way, and I don't think pregnancy or being a young mother excuses everything.
